Darren Sproles played from 2005-2019 and for the last three years of his career he averaged 5 games/season. He is 5'6" 190#. and gained a career total of 8392 yards from scrimmage 3552 rushing and 4840 receiving. He usually had more receiving yards than rushing yards in a season and his best season was 2011 with the Saints with 1313 total yards 87/603 rushing 6.9 Y/A and 86/710 receiving 8.3 Y/R with 173 total touches. He missed his second season with a broken ankle but other than that up until the last three seasons he only had one season where he missed three games and four that he missed one game.

Yea, you draft Vaughn to be Sproles. But Sproles was bigger (which, lol), stronger, faster.

Sproles was also 1 of 1. There are lots of smaller RBs who come out in the draft and get the comparison, but none have really translated. From Quizz Rodgers to JJ Taylor, there are a lot of these guys.

Pre-Draft

Sproles 5'6" 187# Vertical 33" Bench 23 40 4.47 sec Broad Jump 8.75'
Vaughn 5'5" 179# Vertical 35.5" Bench 17 40 4.44 sec. unofficial Broad Jump 9.67'
This is why I don't understand everyone saying that Vaughn is the far inferior athlete when compared to Sproles. Their measurables are about as similar as you can get.

Deuce doesn't have the explosiveness or build of Darren Sproles.

Doens't mean he's not good. Just not the same type of athlete.

Self-reported.

I ran a 4.3 yesterday.
That's true. Here's the best I found

Although he didn't get an official time in the 40, observers had him clocked under 4.5 seconds in his only try. Vaughn had an ear infection and 101.5 temperature earlier in the week and was concerned at one point that he wouldn't be ready to participate in the pro day.

I don't know if the Cowboys had scouts there or not.

Sproles is one inch taller and 10 pounds heavier than Vaughn. They are built very similarly with Darren just a little bigger.

Dallas just needs to be smart about how they use Deuce and he will be able to help, for sure.

thats what worries me. Not Deuce, but the staff and how smart will they use him?

You’re also comparing Sproles here after being in the league 6-7 years and knowing how to properly workout and train
Fair but I'm still thinking back to Sproles in college. Way broader shoulders, way more explosive than Vaughn. Vaughn is shifty and elusive. Sproles was a speedster and could handle the blows because he was compact.

Again, I like Vaughn and hope he makes it. I've seen other comps to Maurice Jones-Drew or Jacquizz Rodgers as well, I don't think the frames match at all.

He's built more like Trindon Holliday, who was a world class sprinter.

What is this from. Everything has him with a 4.56 at his pro day.

Google search. No use beating a dead horse let's just agree that his 40 time is less than official. I will say that the Cowboys have the inside track on his athleticism and were comfortable making the pick. Maybe he'll workout maybe not. Either way it's probably safe to say he won't be the one to pick up Zeke's 231 carries from last year.
