Rusty's 1.0 2024 mock draft with no trades

Well, it's been a while since I have done this. It is the season for mock drafts. So, this is my first effort for 2024. Mind you, it was difficult given that we don't have a 4th and our next pick after our 3rd round pick is a comp 5th rounder. At any rate, here's what I did using the PFN system (https://www.profootballnetwork.com/mockdraft).

1. Tyler Guyton OT Oklahoma

6'7" 328 lb tackle who can be a nice replacement for Tyron Smith.

2. Tvondre Sweat NT Texas
https://www.profootballnetwork.com/tvondre-sweat-draft-scouting-2024/

Massive NT (6'4" 326 lbs) who can clog the middle of the field. Given the unacceptable embarrassment that we had stopping the run against Buffalo and Green Bay, Sweat should help us in this area.


3. Braelon Allen RB Wisconsin
https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Braelon-Allen-RB-Wisconsin
6'2" 246 lb back who should be more than enough to be a lead back. He seems to be a bit of a bruiser, which we need.


5. Tommy Eichenberg LB Ohio State
https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Tommy-Eichenberg-LB-OhioState

6'2" 239 lb linebacker who is physical, which was a major weakness for us. Eichenberg would be a nice boost at linebacker where we need help.

6. Marist Liufau LB Notre Dame
Same size S Eichenberg. Gives us more depth at LB where we need the help, and, like Eichenberg, is an actual linebacker and not a safety. Like Eichenberg, he is physical.

7a. Charles Turner C LSU

6'3" 300 lbs. We need depth at C, and we get that with Turner.

7b. George Holani RB Boise State
Nothing wrong with a little depth at RB, especially when our run game last year wasn't great.

Not a chance that CeeDee Lamb would fall to us
Not a chance that Diggs would fall to us in the second
Not a chance that Jason Witten would fall to us in the third.

Not a chance...tends to have a chance on rare occasions.

I'm a fan of Charles Turner. Good late round value with him there. Especially if youre taking a project at T in the 1st.

And you're right, that gap between 3rd and comp 5 is huge I fully expect we will move for picks in that black hole range.

Exactly, you never know, and it's the way the board worked. There will be more, so we will see.

Yeah, and I had two choices at tackle in round one. I'll be doing one with a trade later to help accommodate that. I also like Turner. He's a solid player, and I could see him starting if needed.

We should've taken Stephen Jackson and Randy Moss.
