For our guys that are signing big deals, are about to sign big deals, what are the expectations that come with signing these big deals? Are we just paying them based off what they've already accomplished, potential, or we're just paying them so they won't go to another team?

There has to be some level of expectation that these players go through all this want of big money, and if their play doesn't match, it only gives us reason to debate/complain etc! If you were a player on this team after signing a big deal, how would you go about paying the team back for looking out for you??? Please give your thoughts.

keep posting Coog. I have no expectations of the players when they are signed. It is what it is and they are nothing a fan can do about it. We are in a bad mess because of the previous signing and we will lose again on the next ones.

I hear you loud and clear, if you were given a raise at your job or any of us, wouldn't that want to make us work harder??? (you're appreciated thanks!)

This front office doesn't give performance expectations when it gives out contracts. Now jersey sells, viral media bites, things of that nature have way more impact with this front office than how they play or contribute to winning.

Is that the front offices' thoughts?

Trade/Cut 4. Keep 2. Go!

Dak, Lamb, Smith, Parsons, Gilmore, Pollard

Not excited about any deals or no deals they make. Prove to us you mean what you say, all in....that means to us fans you will sign some real FA's that can actually make a difference on the field.

Coogs, keep posting brother. Never let anyone discourage you for your posts. No one is forcing anyone to post on a topic they don’t like.

All topics on this forum have a built in filter. The ones people are most interested in get the most traffic; the ones that don’t fade out.

Agree. And we get different topics. Not the same old ones with repeated stuff. You know the ones. :muttley:

Coogs, some might bust your chops for excessive posting. lol but you ask solid questions. All good talking points. Beats the back and forth QB fluff that dominates the zone.

I have no expectations anymore. Even if they were to clinch the 1 seed. Those days of thinking this team can win championships is just a pipe dream at this point. They’re regular season heroes until they can prove otherwise!

Let's be fair, our problem with Re-Sign our guys/restructure/draft is that we can never really compete on the FA and so have to overpay top rate to sign them before they hit the open market.
As we use this methodology we aren't really 'evaluating' future playing worth.
Players agents just love the Jones' because they have them trapped ..... when was the last time the Jones made a trade of a good player who they thought they could recoup greater value in a trade?

If you're out for another raise then yes, you'll work harder. If you know it's the last one you're gonna get then no, **** them.

Don't know how that is in professional sports. Some players may have some work ethics, others don't, who knows. I guess these guys did show more focus than the average Joe in order to make it into the NFL, but money does strange things to people sometimes.

All in all these guys are humans like you and me with the same goods and bads. With the exception of that one talent, which let's them earn millions. Good for them. :)

So as a fan I don't expect anything but them giving it all for their team. Whether they're on a big contract or not.
