The importance of good defense

Most mistakes are removed with focus and forged in fire...not when an emotional base is the center and not prepared for the fight. Fight!

After drafting three DL (OK, Ware and Spencer were classified as OLBs in the 3-4) in the first round from 2005-2007, we've drafted three total in the first round from 2008-2024 ... and one of those was an actual linebacker who has become our top pass rushers.
We still haven’t neglected the defense. We’ve used a number of first and second round picks on the defense. We can’t reach for players on the DL which is what we did with Mazi. You need to draft the best player available with your top pick, whether it’s offense or defense which is how we hit on CeeDee, Parsons, Zack Martin and Tyler Smith. We’ve had better luck hitting on offensive players.

Lol dude I already said the defense folds. Not sure what else you want. I know the only reason you're continuing to argue is because I said Dak also pisses himself, which he does. Both things can be true.

Agenda...lol. I think Dak is a front running chokebag. I don't try to hide it. A quick glance at my profile pic kind of gives it away.
So you went from they can't get turnovers because of the offense to this. Should've just admitted from the start instead of avsolving the trash defense when it counts

Thanks to floodwaters, I've spent the day inside the house watching two Cowboys Super Bowl games (1992 and 1977). Well, actually I'm in the middle of the 1977 games.

And what I've noticed is that you've just got to have good defense no matter who good your quarterback (Aikman, Staubach) are running back (Smith, Dorsett) are. In both games, the offenses got off to rough starts, but the defense was wreaking havoc on the Bills' and Broncos' offense. In the 1992 game, the defense ended up getting eight turnovers and scoring twice. So far in the 1977 game, Doomsday has harassed, sacked or hit Craig Morton and forced two interceptions. While the Orange Crush has also been able to get to Staubach, those turnovers have helped Dallas get out to a 10-0 lead.

We want as good of a quarterback as we can get. Same with the running back. But if we continue to neglect the defense, we won't be seeing any of these Super Bowls any time soon. It's so fun watching front sevens that just dominate.
we had the best DLs in the league those years. it starts with DL. you can have average or above average secondary as long as you have great DL play. stop spending money on the db jones’s spend it on the trenches

You asked why they disappeared...I said it's tough to be aggressive when the offense is throwing picks and can't move the ball. You gave a one off anomaly, digging back a decade to find, that doesn't frequently happen. It doesn't make what I said untrue, but since it implicates that Dak playing badly can impact the defense, which it can, and vice versa, you decided to whine about agendas and whatnot. There's only one person in this conversation looking for absolvement for someone, and it ain't me.

Offense still directs game flow...

I was military. We understood dignified transfer.

I can't stand dak the same way I can't stand dumb posters who think they know football. Nice try though thinking I Give a crap about dak. Take your L and be quiet

Ok tough guy, have a good day now.
When you can't use the you're a dak fan card you got nothing.

Imagine saying with a straight face dak is this reason a soft frontrunning defense can't get a turnover in the playoffs but also saying the defense is a top 5 unit

I said he's A reason, not THE ONLY reason. I literally said the defense is a paper tiger. I also didn’t say they were a top 5 unit, the stats did, I just posted the stats, and that bunched your panties right up for some reason. Anyways, enjoy the rest of your Sunday, Im gonna go do the same.

My only point would be that every QB wets himself at some point. Again, I'm watching the 1994 Super Bowl and Aikman is mostly looking like crap through halfway through the fourth quarter, but Dallas leads 27-13 because of the defense playing lights out and the running game.

Sure, you want the best QB you can possibly get, but guys are Hall of Famers partly because they played on great teams that gave them the chance to overcome bad performances. Our playoff struggles are not all on Dak and Romo. Given better defensive play, we may have made it back at least to an NFC title game by now.
Agreed, the defense has been a big part of the problem. Dak and his panic attacks are a big part of it as well.

Did turnovers disappear or just switch sides?

Tough to be aggressive when the offense is turning the ball over and can't manage a first down.

^^that you? Blaming dak for their impotence? Oh ok. Hope you learned some ball today

Offense still directs game flow...
KC doesn't think so!!!

The D of Philly completely directed the game flow in the super bowl. KC's D completely directed the game flow year before vs SF.

Jerry has got you snowed. The D directs the game flow in most super bowls. D was the only reason the Rams won. Only reason Cincy got there in the first place.

Offhand, the O directing the game flow is simply incorrect.

You're directing that at the wrong guy. Nate isn't a Dak spewer.

Go ahead and tell us you never had to really own up on the field, yourself.
How's about I repeat my post, in case you had trouble understanding who the subject of the post was?
Hint: it's not me

"Well we have a bad defense, bad offense and a bad QB.

That is a recipe for misery"
