With Day 2 more than likely over for the Cowboys.. I figured I’d apprehensively check in to see what others were saying.

Par for the course, majority of what I’m reading is negative reviews, although most pundits and other fans are saying we’re having a pretty good draft. It’s exhausting and prob why I generally stay away from this site.

Depending on what mock “expert” your reviewing.. Dallas genuinely has drafted ‘1st Round’ talent with each of their picks. That’s pretty impressive and should be commended, As Dallas has drafted 3 starters so far. Any other team would be elated. (Not Cowboys fans)

There’s plenty of time to grab a RB. And yes, late RD RBs can make huge impacts. WR.. well, we prob will draft one late, yet might not make much of an impact. But I suspect, Dal will more than likely trade for a veteran to pair with Lamb. Personally, I didn’t think this draft was WR strong in the first place. So it make sense to me.

That said..Our draft picks will all contribute this year, which is important for this team.

Booker- will immediately fill the massive hole that Zack Martin left. How well, who knows, but he’s definitely ready for the challenge. Solidifying the OL make the entire Offense better. (Even late RD RBs look great behind solid OLs.. just mentioning)

Ezeiruaku- might be the most polished or NFL ready player in the draft and many (including Dane Brugler) considered him a 1st RD’er. Admittedly, I’m a Defense guy, so I Absolutely love this pick. We need someone else other teams have to account for other than Parsons. And again, this pick will make the entire Defense better. Not sure if he’ll be a day 1 starter.. but he’ll end up there by mid season.

Revel Jr- I honestly didn’t know much about him, although I’ve read he would have prob been the 2nd CB off the board had it not been for his injury. Also read he shoud be ready by camp.. wow. With the uncertainty of Diggs, the value, and importance of good CBs in this league.. I’d say this will prob go down at the steal of the draft. Outside his injury, I literally haven’t read one negative thing about this kid.

Say what you will about Dallas and the FO

But this has been a very good draft so far.

Stay positive my friends

I think so too, but we have a lot of experts around here. Some say we drafted mid rounders. Lol

I got a slightly different impression. Once you discount the trolls who say stupid crap like “guards don’t move the needle” the discussion has seemed mostly positive. The main criticism of the guard that I saw was that people wanted a skill position drafted in the first round, not too many, questioned his character or his ability. I was actually surprised to see how many people were drooling over the defensive end that we took in the second. I personally share the concern over the cornerback with the ACL surgery, but even there a lot of posters talked about how that’s an easier kind of an injury for a young back to come back from and that the risk was worth it because he has first round talent.
So maybe it’s because of my naturally jaded view of the team, but I was surprised to see how much positivity there was in the comments

Very good draft. Don't listen to the turds, they were ready to hate no matter what the picks were.

I am usually over critical of their drafts but this year I have been pleasantly surprised. They get an A draft grade so far this year.

I just don't see the negativity you see.
No. 1 pick was an unsexy pick but a necessary one who can both strengthen our running game and give Dak more time.
No. 1 is an outright steal in that we have an NFL-ready sack specialist.
Lad, what's not to like?

The crowd is tough and expects the worst because the Jones family has repeatedly run it into the ground for the last 30 years. Even the nitwit Spanos family finally figured out it was time to get out of the way. That said i try and objectively judge each draft on its own. So far it appears to be a B plus and if Revel pans out maybe better. Still i see 7 wins tops for this roster.

Went to YouTube and looked at about 10 different rankings for cornerbacks and everyone had Revel highly rated. The conversations were in the 20s of round 1 to the early 2nd round. They said without the injury he probably would have been considered in the top 15. Dallas just got him with pick 76.

After hearing all the talk about him, I can't wait to see him training camp. He is my pet cat.

Hard to dislike any of the picks thus far and its the first year in a while I could see all top 3 picks starting based on the quality of the player. They did fill needs with these picks, it's just not the flashy need fills like RB and WR.

I have no issue not drafting a receiver I've maintained all offseason that I would rather sign a free agent WR. The RB piece is disappointing, but hard to say I would have preferred an RB over the guy they ended up drafting. There's still a couple guys left as I look st the board that could help but the pool is running thin.

Given our many holes and deficiencies this wide range of opinions on which positions need upgrading the most is expected. I think DT should have been top priority but i also think RG, DE, and CB are right up there too... so no complaints from me! IMO the trenches are hard to fill in FA or trade, much harder than RB and WR.

We are rebuilding.

But the RB1 is a must have.

Maybe next draft.
