He did a lot with the reps he had last year. So give him more reps..... I feel like, right now, Jalen Tolbert might be better than the available options in FA. I also feel like Turpin can be a 2 or at least 3. He's really improved as a player. His next leap would have to be refining his route running. But I truly feel our starting lineup can be Lamb, Tolbert and Turpin. It has the potential to be a lethal combination if both Tolbert and Turpin can reach their highest potential. Like they may not be the tallest or biggest. But the potential for them to be one of the best trios in the league is there if the staff can maximize these players.

Turpin is too short to be a major WR weapon. His lack of height and weight (5'9", 152 lbs) is what keeps him at only receiving 5-10 passing snaps on offense.

That's what they could say about Tank Dell too.
Tank is on the trading block as the rumors go.

Its just too small to be even a 3rd WR (in weight), and the faster they run the worse it could get going across the middle. Sure we could shift CD to the slot, but Turpin isn't known to beat people one on one on the outside. I do like Turp, but his role might be already defined at this point.

You could be right.

If someone at TE can step up in to that #2 target slot, like Ferguson did the year before - that would help take some of the load off Tolbert and Turpin. They could be alright then as options 3 & 4. The 3 of them and maybe a pass receiving running back would give Dak several options then.

Agreed, hence why Cowboys got lucky being able to draft Jaydon Blue so late in the draft in Round 5 before someone else picked him up. Jaydon Blue's speed and pass catching ability is going to be crucial to helping Dak and this offense.

Two things can be true here....Turpin is an excellent offensive weapon, but I think we also see value in a less is more approach with him.

Between the Campbell signing and Blue getting drafted I I'm not sure if we should expect to see more touches from Turpin this season. Hes probably a 10ish snap guy once again would be my guess. The Cowboys have guys on the roster who can steal his snaps at RB, and competition for those slot snaps is very real.

FYI, Jerry said during the Day 3 Post-Draft Press Conference that Will McClay was pounding the table for Jaydon Blue every day for 7 days before the Draft started. That shows how badly Will McClay in agreement with Coach Schottenheimer wanted Jaydon Blue and why Blue would be so important to helping Dak and this Cowboys offense. It starts at the 4:30 minute mark in the video below...

If the Cowboys use him correctly. Hopefully Schotty is more offensive savvy than his dad was.

On a side note Marty actually had a successful team in Washington but they were boring. They where tough though defensively with Lavar and company.

Agreed, brother. Schottenheimer has to bring his A game and get creative with his offensive schemes and playcalling.
