The amount of change will be too much, and certain problems remain.
Contrary to what I posted before, I don't think Joe Milton is the answer. I watched him at Tennessee, and was really surprised he made it to the NFL.
I had him mixed up with Hendon Hooker, who preceded him at UT. He may be better than I think, but at Tennessee he was not yet a fully skilled leader. Joshua Dobbs was the better of these three quarterbacks, but Hooker is very good, too.
And that's the problem with today's college game; the quarterbacks barely stay a year, and then they leap to the NFL draft.
Milton is very talented, but whether or not he is ready for the NFL remains to be seen.
But the Cowboys remain without a capable leader under center, and that doesn't bode well for any team- much less a team struggling to adapt to a new coach.
I think Schottenheimer may have great potential, but he is taking the reigns at a bad time.
Not to mention a defense that is also rebuilding under new leadership.
I think 1-16 is very possible for this squad. If they struggle early, I think the wheels come off early.

lee dont say this kind of stuff!!!!! you are getting me scared. i know you are a big fan and follow this team very closely. and now you have me worried. if you change your mind at all, please post here. it will help relax me, pal. thank you.

I would be willing to bet that they don’t fall that flat. Although, it they don’t make a serious playoff run it would be better they do tank. I think they will be a near .500 team. I believe they will try to establish a run game and have Dak utilize the playaction more. I think the defense will improve as the season goes on. I don’t see them falling completely apart.

Please let this come to fruition! We can only hope the idiots don’t pass on a potential franchise QB. I’ll start watching more games if the snowball gets rolling downhill. Hopefully they’ll show the clown who destroyed our franchise crying a river during the games.

That would mean we have a shot at Manning and maybe no longer stuck in perpetual mediocrity.

That’s not gonna happen.

Many, many things need to go right for this team to be a contender this year, but even more bad things need to happen for them to land that first pick.

Also if the word is that Manning is coming out, there are plenty of teams that know how to suck properly, and absolutely will…while Jerry and kid want to win as many games as possible in a lost season.

Again, perpetual mediocrity. That’s the recourse for Jerry selling his soul for SB XXX. Jerry said he “made a deal with God” that he apparently thinks he can renege on. Could there possibly be a more polar opposite human being than Coach?

Joe Milton stinks but there is no way they go 1-16. Although that would honestly be the 2nd best thing that could happen, first being Jerry, Stephen and Dak being kidnapped permanently.

Here’s a prediction that will stick….this team will never win a SB or make a serious run at one with the current QB room. Drafting a potential franchise QB is the ONLY thing that will ever get this dysfunctional organization over the hump. The only other option is a change in ownership. I’ve got some land to sell you if you believe otherwise.
 Call Vegas and bet all your life savings, sell your house and car and throw in that money too, since you can see the future. :)

The richest man can't buy time but here you are wasting yours on a team that will never win nothing.
