TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

Jerry really cares about Jersey sales. his moves are always financially related. he is a billionaire, that cares about money first. winning second.
This is the nonsense fans need to sell themselves in order to justify their hatred.
He is about to die..... lights out. No more chances.... I doubt his bank account increasing by a couple dollars moves a man probably worth 10 billion at this point.

How much extra do you really think he is going to get from a George Pickens jersey?

That was my preference too. Give Mingo and Tolbert a year to prove they are the right guys and if not use the 2026 draft to get a receiver. I think this deal short circuits the development of the Cowboys younger players and honestly, I don't think it makes them a contender for the SB in 2025.

And, in all likelihood, Pickens will move on from Dallas in 2026 and the Cowboys will have arrested the development of the guys they have.
Yep, another factor, but Jerry needed a splash and a headline.

This is a ‘ready to win’ move and they aren’t.

Honestly WHY have your HC get in front of the media and talk about running the ball and changing the culture then do this??

Just completely undermines his authority yet again. Jerry ought to just take the sidelines already. Shoddy has no shot to control the situation when Pickens loses his mind over not enough targets when chasing the bag.

Yes you did.

You have 2 legit threats out wide that can punish defenses that overplay the run.

Pickens is a temu Tee Higgins. He can rip down the sideline and win the 1 v 1 contested passes.
I understand, but I don't have to have two #1's with a power running game.

Great off season ?
Our HC hire was underwhelming.
We signed no free agents of note.
Where is this great off season you speak of ?
I didn’t use the word “great”.

I think they had a solid draft that will have 3 or 4 players getting snaps for us this year. A good draft when you can do that.

I like the Elam and Kenneth Murray moves. More so Murray.

Liked the Solomon Thomas pick up.

Liked the Dante Fowler pick up.

Likes the Sanborn move

Re-signed Turpin, Izzy and Osa.

Pickens move.

I like what they’ve done this offseason. They upgraded linebacker, interior line, receiver….and running back. This is what we asked for. They are making trades and not sitting on their hands.

Yeah and dont get me wrong I think its a good move for 2025 to bring in Pickens, I just dont see how this works out well long term for the Cowboys. If Pickens works out we have two monster WR contracts on the books for a team that wants to be more run heavy. This could be OK? I guess it depends on where we are finding the money to do this. My bigger concern is would this prevent us from extending someone else the next couple of years....Bland? Overshown? If he doesn't work out we have a cheaper WR2, but a problem WR2. That could be worst than needing to find a WR2 and the reason Pittsburgh has moved on.

Detroit…

They should have just picked Golden in round 1. Pickens character is a huge concern. Coming from a team who seems to have done a great job hiding headache wr's from the spotlight to this "me" driven clownshow doesn't boost my confidence.

This thread is a perfect example of how this site has turned into a bunch of a posters who will complain no matter what.

There are prominent posters complaining IN THIS THREAD who at some point in the last month have openly stated trading for Pickens would be a good move and “that’s why Jerry won’t do it” (exact quote from one of them). What’s more is moderation protects these individuals and doesn’t allow for call outs and names to be named.
Can you back up these claims with actual posts?

The price is what gets me.

We now have given up a 4th rounder for a total project in Mingo and a 3rd for a guy that if I were to put odds on it, it around 80% likely to melt down here in Dallas.

I'd have taken a flier on Pickens if his cost was like a 5th rounder or worse but I just can't shake the feeling we got burned here again.

We got a legit WR who is young for a 3rd.

You’re over valuing the draft pick.

if there isn't any, then don't make a trade. keep the pick to get a defensive player. like eagles, who picked 5 defensive player this year with the first 5 picks and had the #1 defense.

and don't forget we traded a 4th for Mingo last year...so two years in a row, two mid round picks for WR....

the glaring need was DT, LB, Saftey..... so did they make a call to any team for any players that maybe available?
we was as glaring a need. they got outsized value in return. i’d prefer fortifying the defense as well, but i want to improve the team in general

Tale as old as time
