TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

the entire football world agreed that we needed DTs, LBs, Safties....but yeah, lets go get a WR2....

we also needed a TE, a RT, and Slot CB........

this offense was 11th last year in passing. because they lacked a running game. we threw 4 RBs at the problem, 2 in the draft.

you just got a 1 year rental. if we don't win a championship, then it was not the right trade.

and I guess they shipped pickens some of the Cowboys koolaids, because he is now a top 10 WR, where last year he was 59th in catches, 32nd in yards. 82nd in TDs...
what is wrong with you people?
We absolutely don't need a TE or RT. We have two goo TE's. We also have Steele @ RT, who was coming off injury in 2024 and if you look at the last 8-9 games improved greatly. We also don't have a great need for safety.

Ready for the season to start so we can see what this offense looks like.

C'mon Proof. Metrics are influenced by human interpretations. Statistics don't provide context. When the numbers don't line up with what's on film, it's not the film that's wrong.

Nothing personal, I've just gotta be true to what I see. If you see otherwise, I'm not taking it personal.
i’m just the opposite than you. i know im biased, and sensationalistic. i get swept up in the moment. stats and metrics remove some of my cognitive dissonance

they've gotten 3 catches out of him thus far. and a suddenly very crowded room. no one said "getting contribution" is dumb. trading that pick with all our holes for HIM was. there was no bidding war, and with patience there's a very real possibility he'd have been cut. we could have used that pick this year. there are at least 5 guys taken after our pick i'd rather have than mingo. and that's not including the actual pick which was used for etienne which i would have loved as well.
right now, there is parsons as top elite player. Osa as above average. and then there is the rest....I don't see talent. CBs, top 3 coming off major injuries. LBs are a mess. the best LB is hurt, yet again. and this defense was awful before injuries last year. the prior years, they struggled against good teams and beat up on bad bottom feeding offenses.

the defense needs a lot of improving if they are to get anywhere in post season. all the offense in the world won't get them to the CCG.
fact is this team is not ready to compete for championship. not close to the top tier of the teams in the league. not with this defense.

and we drafted those players, and you are assuming they are going to be good. can't every one of the other 31 teams make the same claim?

and I would have preferred to trade up in first round and get graham, who would have a higher impact on the team than a RG, which we could have gotten in mid rounds. maybe not as good as booker, but Mazi -> Graham is a bigger impact, than a RG, the 5th most important offensive line position with slightly lesser player.

and Bell and Mukuamu are what they are in the 4th year in the league.

spend resources on defense. not offense. 21,22,23 we had top 5 offense. 23 being top scoring team. yet nothing to show in post season.

defense wins championship. offense sells tickets and jerseys.

Yup. The rookie considered by almost every expert as the best pass rusher coming out this year. Also a 2nd round pick. We also added Fowler who had 10 sacks last season. The fact that you want to diminish both shows you are just hurt and can't focus on reality. We also just paid Osi huge. We have a big contract tied up in Diggs, we will be paying Bland soon. Parsons obviously.

We have the money to pay the players. Look over at the eagles and the salaries they have on offense. This idea we can't pay people is tired.

No proof its a rental at all. You need that to be the narrative to make your point because your point doesn't have legs on its own.

You are just whining. You value a 3rd so highly yet you discredit the players we just spent a 2nd and a 3rd on who play on the side of the ball you are crying about.
They drafted like 5 defensive player. I don't see get what all the fussing is about.

Damn, I'm forced to like the things Jerry has done this entire off season. Oh well, I guess I am a cowboys fan after all. Good move Jerry.

They are fine as long as people take them as points of reference rather than the absolute truth.

and a couple really good ones at that. and took fliers on a couple guys that could really pay dividends, and getting a couple back from injury as well. last season feels like an outlier, and i'm willing to throw it out for now.

two good TEs don't equal a better TE..

and Steele was injured in 2022...last year he wasn't injured. he just plain sucked. he has sucked for two year now.

and if you don't think we need safties, then you haven't watched the cowboys. its scary bad

holy cow. Your plan was for the cowboys to trade up to #4 overall?

With what? This year and next years first and that probably wouldn’t get it done.

It’s hard to take you seriously when that’s what you are arguing for.
I said I would have preferred to take graham, but I would have taken Grant. or walker....both bigger needs than a RG on the team.

a DT or LB have a higher impact on the team than a RG, the fifth most important position on the OL. don't get me wrong. Booker will be good. but we had Martin for years and didn't win anything. time to change the plan and go defense.

We weren't having any postseason success without a decent #2. In fact, a big reason why we lost to SF in 2023 was because we had no one to threaten the secondary instead of Lamb. And SF new if they could slow him they shut our passing game down
we had the #1 scoring offense. we had top 5 offense. what did we accomplish?

so now WR2 was the issue....without a decent #2, no playoff success. yet there are so many other teams that do it with just one WR1!!!
