So we're just supposed to forget the whole Mingo for a 4th rounder?

So since we suck at drafting in the 4th round anyway, might as well throw away the pick?
they don't even think we could use the "throw away pick" to trade up and get a player we may want more...like move up in the 2nd round and grab a Jayden Higgins (WR, so we don't have to trade a 3rd round pick) or Judkins, or grab grant in the first, trade up and grab Savaneiia (guard) from AZ. or TJ sanders or Collins DT from texas. nah, that never comes to their mind!!! mingo, who will not be on the team in 26. will probably be 6th on the depth chart is a gold mine to them.

It's not a bad deal to have Mingo for pick 114. Your post is comical.

If it were good why trade for Pickens?

You remember 6 days ago Stephen told us we already have 3 WRs on the roster that are able to play the 2nd WR spot.

All of a sudden we trade for a 4th guy.

Well dont think i am stupid or naive. Stephen isnot very bright and for sure i dont believe the stuff he is telling us.

But it needs to be pointed out again and again and again. So nobody believes those guys anymore.

Another thing is: Thats the way you throw away resources. Trying to fill one roster spot by trading or drafting 4 guys. No wonder we are one of the worst franchises in the league.

why? he has 0 TDs in three years. was 6th on his team among WRs and 10th in recieving. he couldn't even get an accidental TD in 51 games in NFL.
it was a bad trade. his production past two years is worse than UDFAs we have on this team. just see Turpin.

its not too early. it was a bad trade the minute it happened. quick trying to pump sunshine up everyone's arse...I get it. you are loyal. everything is awsome, all the time. but a dose of reality once in a while is a good thing
Mingo is the type of player you trade a 6th or 7th for. CAR was going to cut him anyway.

This was Philly's trade for Dotson:

Wash gets a 3rd and two 7ths
Phi gets Dotson and a 5th

Terrible trade for Philly and I'd rather have the Mingo trade. Whether or not it pans out remains to be seen but it's not the worst trade in the world either.

20 percent of 4th round picks become starters or key contributors to nfl teams for four seasons.

I don’t think the trade was a good one but there are a lot worse ones
This a very good point. Which leads to the point that people are up in arms that we gave up a 4th for Mingo and that precious 4th would only have a 20% chance at being better than Mingo!!

the only thing I can say about Mingo in the NFL is that he's not really had a legit go of things with a legit QB throwing to him.

2023: CAR: Young struggled his rookie year.
2024: CAR: Young didn't do much better
2024: DAL: 8 games in a new system with a backup QB.

I'm honestly curious what he can put together with a full off-season and TC with Dak

Upside: solid WR3
Downside: wasted 4th round pick
Young started coming on last season and they obviously didn’t see Mingo as a viable weapon for him.

You see a bad trade whenever the Cowboys make a trade. You see a bad acquisition whenever the Cowboys acquire someone. You see a bad coach whenever the Cowboys hire a new one. You see a bad draft choice whenever the Cowboys make one. See the pattern? Be better.

A lot of that going around. The last 30 years has jaded so many to the point that every single thing the Cowboys do sucks.

I don't. mingo was a bad trade. lance was a bad trade. we didn't need the pickens trade because it doesn't get us closer to the championship we seek. trades for the sake of trading never end up well.

and tell me which coach was a good coach in the past 7 coaches? I always liked the Parcells hire, because he changed the culture and tried to teach jerry, which lasted for about 2 years before jerry thought he knows what he is doing? did you like the garrett hire? or the MM hire? and now another coach, with no experience, who had been passed up over and over to be a headcoach.

the challenge is he hires weak personalities because Jerry wants to have control. he won't hire a parcells type and some great coaches this off season, didn't even consider Dallas as an option. and plus Jerry pays mid level to his coaches, which most good/great coaches won't take to come to dallas, be meddled with all the time and end up with nothing. why? because they care about winning.

you tend to love every move jerry makes, every coach and pump sunshine where sun don't shine. all the time.

see a pattern?
