News: It's official: Cowboys vs Eagles in NFL Opener

Hurts has a higher win percentage than Prescott in games started in the regular season.
And didn’t Dak start his career with like 13 straight wins (or something close to that)?

Hurts only started 4 games his rookie year…went 1-3. Went 8-7 in year 2. So 9-10 after 2 seasons. He’s now 46-20 overall. One is trending up, the other seems to be trending down…

His stats are lower as are his comeback info...Compare wins over the past 4 seasons and declare degree of statistical relevance. Hurts a regular season MVP contender before this season?

Dak had a 13 win first season.

I had to look

Dak 9 seasons played, 122 games record 76-46, 62% winning %
Hurts 5 seasons played, 77 games record 46-20, 69.7% winning %

Dak 66.8% pass completion rate
Hurts 64.4% pass completion rate

Dak 31,347 passing yards 7.6 yards average pass
Hurts 14,667 passing yards 7.6 yards average pass

Dak 213 TD's
Hurts 85 TD's

Dak 82 interceptions
Hurts 39 interceptions

Dak 256 sacks
Hurts 151 sacks

Dak 420 carries 1,938 yards 4.6 average 29 TD's, 22 fumbles 6 lost
Hurts 674 carries, 3,133 yards 4.6 average 55 TD's, 25 fumbles 9 lost

Dak 98.1 QB rating
Hurts 93.5 QB rating

Dak playoff wins 2-5 28% winning % OR 3-4 42.86% winning %
Hurts playoff wins 5-3 62.5% winning %

End of the day, you can use all the stats you want, but what people remember you by as a QB is what you did "to win the big one".

Yes, actually… he was the MVP runner-up in 2022. Eagle fans don’t talk about it because it doesn’t matter. Nobody talks about second place in MVP.

Dak had a 13 win first season.
Hurts’ win percentage in regular season games started is .697
Prescott’s win percentage in regular season games started is .623

Hurts 9.2 regular season wins per season, Prescott 8.4 regular wins per season.

Hurts finished second in MVP voting after the 2022 season. Finishing 2nd in MVP voting for Hurts, or any other player, amounts to exactly nothing. Mahomes won MVP for the 2022 season.

We will see.

This is when you want to hit them

New coach, new scheme, a legit WR2 and legit RB with Blue.

They won’t have much film on us but we have an idea what they want to do.
Mid way through last season the entire league knew very well what the Eagles wanted to do.

More significant is Hurts is over five years younger than Prescott, yet to turn 27, is still developing as an NFL quarterback and, he is signed for the next fours at $9 million AAV less than Prescott and guaranteed much less.

When Purdy signs in the coming weeks Dak will still be the highest paid player in the NFL. Hurts will no longer be in the top ten.

Hurts is 6-3 in the playoffs.

The funny thing is I remember when the eagles made Hurts the "highest paid player" in the NFL and I thought they were pretty stupid for doing so. THAT didn't last long, and ultimately given that he did winning the super bowl a couple years later, at this point seems like a brilliant move.

Here we are having the highest paid NFL QB now and we're just hoping he can win a playoff game. I'm not exactly sure what it's going to take to make Dak's resigning look like a brilliant move.

Because,............

This is a discussion forum, not an opinion poll. Perhaps you would care to provide some type of rational explanation as to why you came to this conclusion.

For example:

I theorized that injuries will play an important role in who wins.

That's because last season, the Cowboys played the first Eagles game without their starting QB who was 2nd place in votes for NFL MVP just the previous season.

They were also without their starting LT as well as his primary backup.

They were also without their 1st team All-Pro CB and his replacement was a rookie 5th round draft pick

In addition, they played without three their top four DE's and the WR2 was also missing.

You might then respond with facts that question whether or not that would make a difference.

For example:

Well, Plasticman, you made several brilliant points.....as usual.

However, you failed to mention that the Eagles also had some injury challenges of their own. Although they played, A.J. Brown, Darius Slay and Jalen Hurts were limited due to their own injuries.

Do you see how that works?

Now you try it......
You make it sound like the Cowboys and Eagles are both at the same level level… And the deciding factor will be relative health. That is ridiculous. We are closer to contending for the first overall pick next year then we are for the Super Bowl… Don’t kid yourself… this team is absolutely nothing, and we would be better off in the long run by going 0 and 17, than scrapping together 9 wins somehow

Lol… Dak sucks when it matters… He never elevates the team when it matters… Dak sucks. You seriously must be a Eagles fan… Only an Eagles fan would want us to continue beating our heads against a brick wall like we do with this bum as a quarterback.

And Dak started with a much better team.
