Purdy signs for 5 years at $265 mill

Don't forget, Purdy has 1 rookie year left on his contract. When averaged in, it comes out to roughly 45M a year over the next 6 years.

On the flip side, Dak's contract was not only 7M more on the surface, but the money left on his final year was enormous. Making the average over 60M.

It is notable that despite his youth and playoff success, compared to Dak, San Francisco negotiated a significantly better deal for the team. I guess C J Stroud, and his representation, eligible to sign an extension after this season are disappointed today.
It is not that much better.
But they do surround him with better talent to be more successful.

Eagles paid Wentz. Realized it was a mistake. Drafted hurts. And won a SB.

This is all while Dallas can’t get out of the divisional round. The last decade this has happened.

SBs for Philly. 2. Appearances. 3.

Do I need to do Dallas?
Philly has a very competent, visionary GM.
We got an oilman who is a marketing genius with NO football acumen.
The results speak for themselves and should not surprise anyone.

That’s really embarrassing. France and Dak took Jerry to school. Just a reminder of how overpaid Dak is and how bad of a deal Jerry agreed too.

Am I the only person to notice that the QB brotherhood Dak was so concerned about has not followed suit with Dak’s actions.
You haters are acting like there’s such a huge difference between 53 million and 60 million.

Unfortunately Dak has been injury prone.
If he goes down yet again,
Things are gonna get ugly, fast.
Things could get really ugly fast if Joe Milton is the starting QB in week five or six and the highest paid player in NFL history is in IR for the 2nd consecutive year. His cap charge and his injury history makes this the worst contract in NFL history. Never mind the lack of playoff success. This is a horrible contract for many reasons.

This is why SF has been to the same number of Super Bowls since drafting Purdy than we have won a single playoff game.

But Dak had to push the envelope for the brotherhood of QBs. And since then no QB has signed for a contract comparable to Dak’s. Dak won the salary bowl, that will be his legacy.

How is 53 mil vs 60 mil “a significantly better deal”?

Dak got his money coming off an All Pro. Purdy got his coming off a 20 TD 12 interception season where 49ers missed the playoffs. Common sense people.

Having a quality/competent GM is probably a teams most important asset.
You just can't be a serious sb contender without one.
This is the reason we have not been to a NFCCG in 29 years and counting.
BTW season 30 is not looking promising.

There is a difference between 53 and 60. About 7 million of them. It’s not hating to point out that Dak stated in a press conference that he owed it to his fellow QBs to push the envelope and pave the way. Dak didn’t care about the brotherhood and especially didn’t care about his team and the team’s resources. He cared about himself and that’s it.

Answer me this question. Why was Dak the only QB to speak of the so called brotherhood and and why hasn’t any QB signed a contract close to Dak’s or eclipsing Dak.

Allen- more accomplished player and regular in the playoffs- 55 million APY

Purdy- Super Bowl appearance, impressive playoff record, 53 million APY

Lawrence- similar to Dak 55
Tua- similar to Dak, 53

No QB has signed for 60 or 60 plus.

Dak is in a brotherhood of himself and only cares about himself.
