I too think Williams could be on the hot seat. He is coming back from an injury that often takes multiple years, and I also wouldnt be shocked to see the Cowboys go light at DE in order to keep an extra DT on the roster. Solomon Thomas gives you some position flex to bump out to DE as well.

I also wouldnt be surprised if they looked to keep 7 backers. I know thats a little bit of an old school approach to keep 7, but the strength of the LB position for Dallas is the depth at the position over having a couple of studs at the top....plus the body type of a LB is perfect for special teams.

Hope these guys can help us against the run
The FO has almost always valued the DE position but its bewildering that they haven't done the same with DTs.

It's as if they've never seen the impact of Suh, Sapp, Donald or Chris Jones.

It appears as if Mazi will one day be recognized as a depth player ........I said I would give him 2 seasons to at least show growth and I've maintained that

I may be a minority of 1 but I would like to see them keep Sam Williams and see how he performs this year. His trade value now is close to 0 anyway coming off injury. The trade deadline is October 31st . Maybe if he plays well the first 2 months of the season his trade value will increase.

Here's what we have:

Micah Parsons
Dante Fowler
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Sam Williams
Marshawn Kneeland
Payton Turner
Tyrus Wheat
Luigi Vilain
Earnest Brown IV

I think they will keep the top 6 with Micah taking a LB spot. But then again, I can't shake this feeling Sam Williams may be the odd man out.
The Fowler and Ezeiruaku acquisitions really changed the makeup of the position.

And yet, when moderately talented Hankins was here, we suddenly were able to stop the run. How Jerry doesn't even notice this is beyond bewildering.

I agree…..

This is a pet peeve I have with fans….every offseason they suggest trading someone because they think we are deep at a spot. This is how we traded Chauvarius Ward before we should’ve.

Depth is a good thing. I’m all for trading for a good player but these guys have no value.

I think they see it which is why they drafted Mazi. Whatever they have done just hasn’t worked.
Mazi was not good in college and has poor lateral agility and tends to be late off the snap.

Does Jerry even know what lateral agility is and how it affects a player's success? I doubt he does, as he drafted and counts on players such as Jalen Tolbert, whose failures to be better come down to exactly that.
