Both could be rotational players.
Winfrey lacked pass rush. But as far as clogging lanes, he should work. I expect him to make the team. Has the tools to develop a pass rush, especially with our DL.

Eagles pursued him at one point...

Maybe we keep more than 5 DTs?

Smith, Thomas, Odighizuwa, Toia, Winfrey, Akingbesote?

I like that he has flex and isn't a tub. We have some athletes at DT now..

The Cowboys' workouts last week of five NFL and UFL veterans have turned into a pair of signings for the team, just a month before the first day of training camp.

Dallas is officially bringing aboard defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey and cornerback Robert Rochell, as reported by NFL insider Aaron Wilson, who cited a league source in his Wednesday afternoon post on X.

Why do you think he's a JAG? To me, this is like the Turpin signing. He hasn't played a whole lot. But he was good in college. 2nd round grade.

Dude has huge upside if he can stay out of trouble. Scheme fit too, I think.

Not sure why people think this guy sucks. He can play the run better than Mazi.

His legal troubles derailed his career, not his performance.

He is a 6'4 290 pound DT. He isnt a run stuffer. He wasn't a good run defender when he got time in Cleveland

Based on what? He wasnt projected plus run defender as a prospect and he struggled against the run in Cleveland. You have to stop wildly projecting with no basis with these bottom roster/camp body type players

Damn why couldn't we sign someone with a bigger name who wanted bigger money, I swear the Cowboys have no clue of what they're doing!! Somewhere my buddy JazzSHEEP is like ole coog you fool ( no really!) lol

His skill set fits the scheme. I really liked him in the draft. And I truly think he's going to surprise some. He only played his rookie year, I believe. And we're now two years past his rookie year.

He's also been playing in the UFL.

The other thing is, he had a 2nd round grade by many. It has been the off the field stuff mostly that impacted his development trajectory.

I mean, he did play for Oklahoma. Pretty good against Texas.

But this isn't an UDFA like my pet cats Holden and Cropper.

We've seen him one year, playing for the Browns, where you can see some of his ability. He at least flashes there.

It's just. He's a bonehead. But listening to his UFL interview, maybe he's grown up some.

If anything, he's an unknown with well-documented potential.

This is how they should have acquired Jonathan Mingo.

Go ahead. Write him off after a year in the league.

He was bad his rookie year. And then he couldn't get on the Jets roster his 2nd year. You are still way over projecting if you are saying this guy should be a contributor. Never say never, but its highly doubtful. You need to stop chasing rainbows looking for pots of gold

Yeah you never know but I’m the one who never saw Aubrey or Turpin coming….i thought they were stupid to hand the job to Aubrey…

Rainbows?

Couldn't crack the Jets roster? They activated him then he injured his foot in his first game after obviously being rightly afraid about his character concerns.

I'm telling you. This dude has at least a little talent in spite of the concerns, which I think may be your actual problem with him.

If you read the comments in that article, it says he was the one guy on the roster with so-called character concerns. So, they obviously like him but were hesitant about the criminal stuff.

That aside, he's an exciting pick up at a position of need. We at least know he's probably better than Justin Rogers.
