Don't do this to yourself . . .I said a few weeks ago that I wished we could have had Schottenheimer sooner. I'll double down here. So far, Brian Schottenheimer is an elite Head Coach.
Has he been perfect? No, but every coach makes a few errors. However, by and large, he's made a lot more great coaching decisions than mistakes. He's good with clock management so far. In a league where you can regularly call out mind numbingly stupid clock management decisions, Brian Schottenheimer (a rookie HC) hasn't made those. Sure, he's gotten a bit overly aggressive times, but a lot of coaches are aggressive now.
Furthermore, not only has he beaten both Super Bowl Teams in the span of 4 days. Not only has he also beaten the Commanders and was a dropped ball away from sweeping Philly. He's outright OUTCOACHED Andy Reid, Sirianni, and Quinn. Remember when we would be upset because we were regularly outcoached under Jason Garrett? I think it'd safe to say we are not being outcoached. He's putting the team in great positions to win (excluding maybe the Cardinals game, which he has really improved from). He's trusting his QB. He's calling mostly great plays. He's managing his time-outs brilliantly.
It's nice to finally be able to say that we have an elite Head Coach in 2025. Who'd have thought that we might actually have the best HC in the division at the start of the season? Even if we don't make the playoffs this year, I currently have full confidence in Schottenheimer in 2026.
there is nothing wrong with that, my friend.
Well, outside of Tom Landry he's the only Cowboys Coach I met personally, but I did when we both were kids. I at least like him for that.
People forget, they traded away their best defensive player right before the season, lost Kneeland, dealing with several key injuries and has his team playing their best football now at the most important time of the yr. Hated the hire, but he has proven me wrong so farI said a few weeks ago that I wished we could have had Schottenheimer sooner. I'll double down here. Agree. He's 6-5-1. Put away the anointing oil.
He let Eber ruin his first season.I like him, I’m rooting for him to succeed, and he has impressed
Me so far but, it’s way to soon to call him elite
Yes, but he just beat Andy Reid, a future hall of fame coach. If they beat the Lions next week on the road, there will be a parade in downtown Dallas to celebrate an unprecedented 4 wins in a row.so many are clowns. Mccarthy won 12 games 3 years in a row ad he sucked. Schotty is 6-5-1 and he is ready for the HOF.
and " returning" talent ala Overshown, Hooker, Donovan, Revel, etc.3-0 since adding talent to the defense.
Schottenheimers offense has been great all season.
Whoa, Rusty. Pace yourself. We still got to get across them mountains up yonder.
Elite??? Oh my God what is going on here? If Shottenheimer were available tomorrow he would not get another head coaching job. Just stop the madness.
