That's a wrap for 2025

This is about the umpteenth "thats a wrap for 2025" thread. They started around week 3, if not sooner.

While I have no expectation of playoffs, I think ill let it play out.

We made it interesting for a few more weeks. It was fun beating Egirls and Chefs but winning out was a little too much to ask.

Now we can hope to finish above .500 which we should and have a fairly strong finish to a season which was derailed from the onset.

We need to focus on resigning Pickens and Williams in offseason . And look to draft to find another edge or pass rusher and CB.

It was a valiant effort by Dak and offense to try and revive the season but in the end the defense couldn’t make critical stops and the horrid start to season was too much to overcome.
Thanks for a nice post.

I really wish we would move on from Eberflus, but Jerry will likely hang onto him. (sigh.)

It ain't over just yet
Because Herbert's injury is still unsure at this point, may be getting the easiest schedule to finish out the year. Minnesota is starting undrafted free agents at QB, Washington and New York have had injury problems all year with their young bucks. Washington is the only one on the schedule that can run the ball. I still stick with my 4-1 prediction and the one loss being either Washington or Detroit. If I hadn't just seen it recently with many of the same players and coaches, I wouldn't give the Cowboys a chance at a Philly collapse.

Sit Dak, put in Milton and bring up RBs from practice squad.

If we aren't in the playoffs, this team needs to start playing young guys and getting them reps. All that matters once the playoff door is shut is draft position.

I want to see how Pickens responds to some criticism and being out of the hunt. I was fairly sold on re-signing him, but after last night.. well I want to see how he responds.
Perhaps while you’re waiting “to see how he responds” he’s ascertaining whether or not he even wants to remain with the Cowboys.

In some cases I’d agree but many players contracts have incentives based on starts, production, etc.

And most teams feel there is some positive carry over with strong finishes.

A.500 team usually isn’t going to tank rest of season to move up a spot or two in draft.

why be the .500 team ?

just like the Garrett era .

we need to tank and get any spots we can get

We need the Panthers to lose 2. They will. We need the lions to crap the bed. I think they might. They could easily drop a few. Or they could win out and ,GB could implode. The Bears are hot. Wouldn't be shocked if they beat GB Sunday. I trust Ben Johnson. If GB loses 2 and we win out, coupled with the panthers dropping 2, we then would make it.
Nope. DET. They're also above us. We need more than one team to implode.

This all goes back to taking an unneeded project TE in the 2nd. I don't think most comprehend how badly screwing up a 1st or 2nd round pick hurts us. Snowball effect. We were then forced to draft for need as that screwball pick left us bereft at another position.

Disagree. That's purely a fan thing.
