A lot of the hate for him was already building in the last 2 or 3 years of Romo... like from 2013 on. People were thinking 'Romo is nice, but he's more like Danny White. The next guy is gonna be Aikman." They had that fantasy pre-programmed for years, and when they learned that they weren't getting their next Aikman, their fantasy blew up in their face. They threw a hissy fit and built up anger towards the guy they think blocked them from obtaining a Mahomes caliber Quarterback. But fact is... Dak didn't block us from getting a Mahomes. The draft is a lottery ticket.... you get lucky you don't get lucky. For most of any team's franchise history.... you're not getting the best or one of the best QBs in the league. it's just fact. You just have to deal with that low likelihood. Also, i really don't care if we don't have the best QB in the league.

But with that said.... how far behind the best QB is he even? I think it's silly to put him out of the Top 10. Even Top 8 is probably low for him because who can honestly name many better names? You can name the clear exhibits, but after that is a matter of opinion. He easily can be argued as Top 5 or 6 if he has regularly appeared on Pro Bowl ballots for 2 out of the last 3 years. We're talking initial selections, not replacement selections. So hes not that far from being one of the best. But even if he isn't one of the best..... none of you date the hottest, or one of the hottest girls on the planet. Do you not love her all the same? I can love Dak even if he isn't the best.

You can crucify him for those 2 games against the Golden Gaters, but what about those other playoff games? Against Rodgers, it was a Quarterback dual - and those kinda games favors the guy who got the football last..... that was Rodgers. If anything, Garrett and his clock management and his electing to kick an early field goal not understanding that the game was not gonna be low scoring was more to blame than the Quarterback. Against the Rams, Dak was normal. No one's saying he was exceptional..... he was just normal. Normal is good enough against McVay at that time of the year, against one of his better teams. The defense was anything but normal. it was awful and gave up 300 yards rushing. Against the Packers, while Dak precipitated our demise with his picks.... the defense ultimately had the final say. They gave up an opening Touchdown drive, followed by a 95 yard Touchdown drive, and that would be right in the middle of 5 straight Touchdown drives surrendered to Jordan Love. It's a joke that a game can effectively be over after 3 failed offensive drives.....only the Cowboys can let such a thing happen...... the defense was definitely the much bigger issue that game. One of those first 3 failed drives was also a drop by Lamb on 3rd down.

So overall..... how many real opportunities has he had where he was given much of a normal chance non-obfuscated by the blunders of his defense or his coach? Just the 2 against the Golden Gaters. Against the Packers and Rams he had absolutely no chance with how awful the team played overall. And against Rodgers he had a chance but he just wasn't on the field when Rodgers hit that last sideline pass, nor was he on the field during the walk off field goal.

So in short .... he may never get us to the Super Bowl, or we even win one with him..... but i don't know about you guys.... I'm sure gonna well enjoy him trying.

Cant move, no pocket awareness whatsoever, deep balls still thrown out of bounds, 10 years doesn't understand throwing the ball away, stare down Charley, check down when need 8 or 9, hasnt beat a playoff team in 2 years other than Jalen Hurts, nowhere near Championship round or Superbowl, and on and on and on........and now he predicts the future too, clown.
 
Dak is one of 5 QBs to be selected to the Pro Bowl in 2 out of the last 3 years. That makes him one of the best QBs in the league.

Darnold, Allen, Jackson, and Staffords are the others.

You don't point the finger at QBs of that caliber. Nor do you say goodbye to them. Jerry's probably gonna give him one more contract, also.

We hate Dak the way a man hates his current job. No job is no bueno...but that doesn't mean I have to love the job that making me slave 80 hours a week with no possibility of advancement. Give me a lower-paying job with fulfillment and a legit shot at success and advancement...now we're talking.

A star against a D as bad as Dallas and a PS QB and some good stats as usual in a meaningless game, you love him for choking in big games and acting like he just won the SB after the game, he’s really pathetic lucky the have Audrey to kick all those FGs. All you have to do is talk the NFL into letting Dak play the scrubs every week next season and then maybe he can choke again in the playoffs
 
I'll save everyone a lot of trouble...it's really easy when it comes down to it. If your QB has been starting for 10 years and he STILL divides the fanbase then news flash - he's not that guy. If he's that polarizing of a player after 10 years then he's not that guy. We're talking about a full decade...not just a few years or the duration of a single contract. 10 years!

I know not every Cowboys fan is from Dallas so they may not be Mavericks fans but let's compare to Dirk Nowitzki. It took Dirk 10 years to win a championship and there were plenty of lows during that stretch, including losing in the Finals and losing in the 1st round to an 8th seed - series where he played poorly. But even during those lows, we knew Dirk was the guy and our faith in him never wavered.

Yes, it can take time for players to be champions. It took Peyton 9 years to win a Super Bowl. It took Elway 15 years. But even when they fell short, they never divided the fanbase. Josh Allen might fall short again this year but half of the Bills fans are not going to demand to replace him because they know every team in the league outside of KC would love to have him. (And even when they fell short, they still took their teams further than the Cowboys have been).

The truly great/elite players earn the benefit of the doubt from the fans. The fact that Dak still divides the fans after all these years tells us everything we need to know about him as a player.

If Dak is anyone's favorite player then fine - I've got no problem with that. It's a personal preference, you can like anyone on the team. But we can't act like he's this great QB capable of leading them to a championship because he's not.

Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. Dak was not rated in the top 5 of QBs by any measure in 2023 (Allen, Burrow, Mahomes, etc.) were all ahead of him. Now we got guys like Caleb Williams and even Bryce Young who are outplaying Dak. YOU can't see it...because you think Dak made CeeDee and Pickens. They were good LONG before they met Dak and if you gave those QBs those weapons they would look good to. Plus just keep throwing first round picks at bodyguards for the QB.

If the guy is making $60mm/year and eats up 25% of the cap, you ABSOLUTELY point the finger at him...especially if you have thrown more resources to prop him up.
