Blaming Jerry is the lazy way out

OK, listen closely: JERRY HIRED THE COACHES. AND JERRY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACQUIRING THE PLAYERS.

Man, this just can't get any more simple.
So if you are a player....what do you do?

Attack and tackle?

Or.. .move back five yards and let the ball carrier run out of bounds?

Come on. These guys been playing all their lives. But suddenly it's Jerry's fault they cant tackle?

Don't be stupid.

Ultimately jerry...of course. But I've played Sunday morning flag football with more passion than these golf club million dollar players.

Other teams players seem to be able to win stuff.. it's just Cowboy players?

I know you are a Jerry apologist.. but c'mon.. we are going to blame every coach and players we have had for the last 30 years?

When you start blaming everyone else there is a fair chance its you.

In this case it's.. you know who.
Everyone is to blame

If Jerry hired me....would i play for my life?

Or....would i toe company line? Do the country club shuffle?

Hos many 2025 players played for their ever loving life? Gave up everything. How many?

Right? As if the Cowboys are the only ones with jags? And yet the play like real NFL teams, even when losing.

Not exactly sure what you are getting at?

You agree that it's Jerry's culture?

Reading all these posts about the Patriots and Rams rebuilding while we sit here stuck in the mud made me realize something.

We love to use Jerry as a shield. It's comfortable. It's easy. But honestly, blaming Jerry for the last 30 years is letting the actual players and coaches off the hook.

I know the counter-argument: "Jerry is cheap in Free Agency." And yeah, for a long time, he was. We all hated the bargain bin shopping years. But look at where the money actually goes.

First, he pays the homegrown talent. He resets the market for our own guys constantly. He didn't cheap out on Dak. He didn't cheap out on CeeDee. When we have a star, they get paid top dollar.

Second, the roster is always considered "stacked." Every single August, the national media talks about how loaded our roster is. We at times have some of the highest numbers of Pro Bowlers in the league. You can nitpick a bust here and there, but generally, the GM puts a potential playoff-caliber roster on the field every year.

Third, the "All-In" move. We finally screamed for a big trade, and he went out and got Quinnen Williams and George Pickens. He actually pushed the chips in.

My point is this: The front office does its job by assembling a playoff-caliber roster. They hand over a team loaded with talent. The failure lies with the coaches who can't maximize that talent and the players who disappear in big moments. The resources are there; the execution is what's missing.

When we lose in the playoffs, have losing seasons, is it because Jerry has an ego? Or is it because we have a locker room full of professionals who consistently fold when they get punched in the mouth? The Patriots are in the Super Bowl because their players executed. Ours didn't.

Blaming the owner feels good, but he gave them a loaded deck and they still couldn't win the hand. At some point, we have to stop yelling at the guy in the owner's box and start demanding more from the guys wearing the star.
I am not on board with this at all. Sure he has paid home grown talent, made moves, etc. However, literally every team in the league has made changes at the GM / Coach position. In some cases teams made changes for the sake of changing (see the Bills). Jethro refuses to fire himself. He has made moves that are completely irresponsible or too late. The GM is a detriment to this team and no team owner in this league would keep a GM for 30 years in place with no sniff at an NFC championship game.

Regardless of the results Jerry always cast them in a positive light. The coaching staff follows his lead. All is well. And the players don’t want to believe their efforts were in vain. So, they buy into what the team’s owner says.

Look at the career record of the recently fired Buffalo Bills head coach. Very good. Not good enough. If he would have achieved the same results with the Cowboys he’d be in the Ring of Honor.

The NFL ownership groups dictate their teams’ culture. The Cowboys are the result of “Jerry’s culture”.

Who hires those coaches you blame?

who's a member off the Kiss Jerry's butt club?
Here is the leader of the R&r club learning his trade.

30 years of abject failure and it all comes down to him. He wants credit for winning when he hasn’t so in that case, he also gets credit for failing to build a team capable of winning championships and winning championships consistently since 1996.

Jerry Jones and Family are the ONLY constants through out the years.

Different Players
Different Coaches
Different styles of Offense
Different styles of Defense
Players style Coaches
Disciplinarian Style Coaches

Overpaying in FA in the past
Underpaying in FA like now

Only constant is the Jones Boys.
This is what happens when the owner does not fire the GM no matter how many years of not making the NFC champ game let alone the Superbowl.

Yes, it is. Tackling in the NFL is about possessing the lateral agility, burst, and instincts to get in front of the ball carrier.

Don't be stupid? Back atya. If you cannot understand what it takes to tackle at an NFL level, don't pretend you do.

THANK YOU!!!!! FINALLY someone that actually has real football sense. I have been saying the same thing for years now. Jerry and the FO personnel are not the ones on the field. The players are so focused on money and other things that they don't care, no pride about how they play, or the organization, the historical franchise they play for. The winning tradition, history, that players before them established.

We don't have way too few players on the team that really want to win championships, and way way too many that has only money, and what notoriety that comes from being a professional player.
And other teams don't? That might be the weakest attempt to defend Jerry I've ever seen.

Ok...sorry about that. Didn't mean to insult. It is certainly just my humble opinion...that tackling was part of defensive woes. Not just scheme, but serious technique issues.

When I watched the playoff teams....they seemed almost recklessly violent by comparison.

Again...sorry mate. My bad.

I do.

I also believe many of the players are not without blame. Be it bucking the culture, holding fellow players accountable, lackadasicial playing...etc.
