Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign CB Cobie Durant

They also can add linebacker and edge soon by free agency or trade.
I think we're done at edge. We had Eze and Houston, re-signed Williams and added Gary and Wheat. We also have Land and Odeleye from the practice squad. Not saying all of those should make the roster, but I think we'll consider the position adequately filled heading into the draft.

At inside linebacker we're short on bodies with just Overshown, James and Barron. Probably will get a cheap vet with some experience there, unless we trade for an upgrade to that.

not sure about that, its a 1 year deal and our other 2 corners Revel and Bland sucked last season.
Think he just gives us some experienced depth, someone who can come in and play if needed or as an extra corner. Definitely doesn't knock corner off the needs list, but they may want to see what they can do with Bland and Revel before using an early pick on the spot.

They seem to be interested in trading for Jonathan Greenard from the Vikings.

Very nice pickup. It takes the urgency to take CB in the draft away. It gives Dallas a lot more freedom to take the best available at 12 and 20. Best signing yet, IMO.

They could still go CB in the first round… but now they can also not go CB in the first either.

I don't know if that's being drummed up or if there's actually interest. They indicated after trading for Gary that they weren't interested in acquiring any other high-end (i.e., high-priced) DE.

I like this move better than trading for Elam. At least Durant is coming off a solid season.

Sure, my question was why nobody else gave him a solid multi year contract. He’s 28, just had his best season and is top half of the league among starters at his position by PFF grade and opponent QBR.

Guys like that don’t sign one year deals
I read that he was pretty bad in 2024, so maybe that affected his stock.

For perspective, Cor’Dale Flott just got three years, $45 million from Tennessee. Durant had a better PFF grade, lower opponent QBR, fewer PDs and INTs and more yards per reception. Now he is three years younger but neither player is old by any definition.

This is odd

Not saying I wouldn't love that. Just that I haven't seen or heard anything from the team that would indicate it is interested in acquiring another end, just rumors that it may be competing with Philly for Greenard.

Philly just signed another edge today, maybe they are out of it for Greenard.

Good pickup. He gives them veteran help if Bland or Revel have another injury set back. They might play him in the slot, he can do both. He has played a lot more on the outside but he was PFF's highest rated slot cb in 2022; his rookie year. It doesn't seem like CP is worried about the size of his DB's. Loche, Thompson and Durant are all 5'11 and Durant only weighs 183lbs.

The Eagles are after him too. And Roseman has reportedly offered a new, more lucrative contract, which is what Greenard wants. So I don't expect anything to result from any pursuit by Jones. They reportedly wanted at LEAST a third rounder in the trade. Greenard is wanting something at 20 mil/yr +. He's on 4 yr 76 mil at the moment.

Don't see it happening.
