No red shirt rookies, do we really believe Jerry?

Jerry states we don't want to red shirt any rookies this season, due to our lack of evaluation and instead going with our hearts decision on these players. What good does it help us if we draft someone and they've been injured, or are coming off an injury/surgery. They will need proper time to heal, while we're counting on them being an integral part of our team for that season.

Does anyone believe that Jerry has changed his mind for real and the light is shining, or is this just talk?? Please give your thoughts

I am pleased to give me thoughts.
...
Ga'head, Yoda, start some rookies. All this will do is do a psychological number on the rookies.
Rookies usually take a while to adjust to the NFL speed, and while they are dazed by the NFL speed, I bet they'll be pushed around.
Be prudent. Bring the young ones around slowly.

Lol lol I trust Jerry Jones haze!! Lol

Shouldve never did it to begin with

And stop doing it in the second round

Second round is for day 1 starters…..if you want a redshirt rookie then 6th and 7th rounders are where you go
Great post!!!!!! When you look back at how many 2nd round picks didn't go well for us it's sickening

I am pleased to give me thoughts.

Yes but that doesn't mean we have to select the ones that are injured and THEN need time to get acclimated to the NFL game

There is really only one player that this applies to, it's McCoy.

I think if Styles, Downs, and Delane are off the board at #12 along with the edge rushers that leaves Dallas with two options, select McCoy or trade down to select the next tier of defenders.

Selecting the next tier of defenders at #12 would be a waste of draft capital.

My ideal draft(depending on Pro day) are McCoy and CJ Allen.

I would love to have Sonny Styles in Dallas. A big thumper who can stop the run. Rolando McClain type in his prime. But I get the feeling this is going to be the same situation as Patrick For Surtain. An elite, potential hall of famer off the board before Dallas can pick.

The one that got away AGAIN.

Even if he's telling the truth I don't believe him. I'll take the chance I'm wrong.

I believe these players will be off the board by #12. Mendoza, Love, Tate on offense. Reese, Bailey, Styles, Downs, Bain, and Delaney on defense. That's nine.

I don't know how many OL will be selected.

That leaves McCoy as the best defender if this scenario plays out. I think Dallas will be put in a tough spot at #12 because all the targets will be gone and then you have the next tier of players that you can get later. Bad for Dallas.

Surely if he shows out at his pro day it takes him off the list of "red shirt" players right? If he doesn't do well, 15 months removed from injury I wouldn't consider him at all.

The guy is an elite, S tier liar.

It’s a “skill” that dishonest people work to hone, but Jerry was born with the “gift”.

Jerry’s first words might have been “I’m smiling when I say that”

Agred

Both Fano and Mauigoa are consensus top ten picks

So, offense
  • Mendoza
  • Love
  • Mauigoa
  • Tate
  • Fano

On defense, I expect sll
If these to be gone

  • Baine
  • Bailey
  • Reese
  • Styles
  • Downs
  • Delane

So, it may end up being a trade down because if all those defenders are gone, I don’t see one I want at 12. They’ve reportedly taken McCoy off their board but he’s definitely very talented. Maybe someone trades up for him. It’s too early for faulk

Unfortunately, #12 probably starts a run on offense. Maybe someone desperately needing a WR will take Lemon or Tyson.

He said he’ll have “no limits” but we’ll see if he runs a 40. I doubt it

When your D is that bad everyone is going to start.

That's not good especially if they're coming off injuries

Based on the pro day we just saw, Allen is a bottom first round player
