Cowboys have called to inquire about LB Brooks

Calling cost nothing.
Dolphins probably want too much. And Jerry is not biting.

A 5th rounder would be great, as he is in the last year of his contract.
And we have 3 of them so trading one away is great for a 1 year rental in Brooks.

Jerry says, take the 5th as shark bait. And it is tough to give up a 5th….oh wait, a 5th of JWB.

Give us your first-team All-Pro for a fifth. Yeah, that should go over well. Are you related to the cheapskates running this show?

Even if they did or didn't call, fans on here would complain and get mad somehow!

Doit after the draft
During the draft especially if we lose our on Jacob or CJ, just can't draft either too high
Go get Brooks with out 3rd rounder and don't look back. He is a stud in the middle and exactly what CP needs for his D.
The more we want a player, the less they don't listen lol

I don't think the league see him in that same light. He sucks in coverage just like Bobby Wagner.

20, 92 & 180 (1,001 draft pick value)
To Miami for:
Jordyn Brooks, 30, 75 & 151 (866 draft pick value + 3rd round value for Brooks)

Maybe slightly overly complicated with amount of picks involved, but I think this makes sense for both teams. Miami moves up in the 1st for a chance to get another premium player and Cowboys get Brooks + better depth of picks in mid rounds.

Fans are going to overrate Brooks value without factoring in age and contract status. 29 year old off ball LB’s in a contract year are never going to have high value. I’d be pretty surprised if another team is willing to offer a top 90 pick straight up for Brooks

So you want to give up the farm for a player in the last year of his contract.

I do not blame the FO for not giving into your poor GM thoughts.

Yep. It’s dumb to even consider that being a possibility.

If the Dolphins just let him go next year as a free agent, they will likely get a 3rd round comp pick.
Right. I don't think they are looking for a bunch of late-rounders that you mostly miss on. They are wanting something in the first three rounds if they are considering trading him.

Why not call their bluff and wait until after the draft ............his value then goes to zero coz he's a 2027 free agent.

The more I think about ....I'll offer a this year 3rd rounder or a conditional 2027 3rd. That's it ..........coz w/o a new deal, my leverage is behind the eight ball.
