In year 2, what do you need to see from our Head Coach?

I want this team going in the right direction.

I don't have any preference as to how he does it.

Philosophy, style, innovations, discipline, personality.....these are all just means to an end, but it is the end that matters.

Acting under the premise that positional improvement does fall under his authority as head coach and that is to include both sides of the ball.

So with that said I would say more consistent edge pressure and extreme 2nd level linebacker improvement and secondary play counting on his new DC's secondary roots with noticeable signs of improved coaching up.

Offensive tackle passblocking improvement. Second half scoring of TDs and red zone TDs improvement.
Overall team duscipline to include less penalties of course.

Holding both himself and all positional coaches/coordinators to a standard that will not accept anything less than full commitment to their job at 100 percent effort at all times.

That about covers it.

I see Brian doing exactly what Jerry wants him to do. I think the HC position is interchangeable. The end result is always with Jerry's involvement.

Ok it seemed like you felt he should be gone now, dont need to see even this season.
Now that he has his hand picked DC , I expect more from him and the team,and I think they make the playoffs this year.

He achieved a half game improvement in his first year. I think he can improve another half game in his second. The NFC West is a tough draw. Home and away.

Relying on field goals
We need to be league average in penalties
The defense must significantly improve
Special teams might have been even weaker than the defense when it came to kick and punt returns.

Just that is a worthy goal for Schottenheimer in his second year as a head coach. Particularly if one of the wins is vs. Arizona.

If this new defensive coordinator gets this defense playing really well that means he will no doubt get some head coaching offers. If that happens I’m firing Schottenheimer and hiring Parker.
