Jaydon Blue change of pace

I do not know if Blue is a little slow in picking up the play book or there are other variables involved. But the several times last year when I thought Blue's number should have been called Schott seemed to always imply that he was making progress or some other vague reason as to why he wasn't getting snaps.
Outside of the very last Giants game he did practically nothing honestly.

My opinion.
I got the impression he's disinterested.

Blue has to understand his assignments, the plays, improve blocking and no fumbling before getting on the field consistency.

This is NFL, not Madden. This is NFL, notmolympics. Being fast is meaningless. He has to be an NFL player and understand that its not college where he got away because he was a better athlete
Well said. The gap between college and pro football success is in the details. Like training, preparation, film study and discipline.

There are hundreds of great athletes that have all the tools except that commitment to being a complete professional.

Lamar is a RB? Or, are you saying he is the change of pace, lol. I don't think anybody is/was a change of pace for DH, they were just there to give the opponents on D a break from him

This will be Schotty's 2nd year with Blue along withthe RB coaches.

If he doesn't see more significant time, then we can infer that his time with the team will be short. On this team RB should be an easy one to get on the field unless you have serious deficiencies.

I can't see much more tolerance for Blue if doesn't get his crap together.
I think a lot of people, including the coaches, didn’t count on Malik Davis straight up beating him out.

I’m sure the inattentiveness of Blue towards his duties played a factor in that as well.

I think it says as much about Malik Davis and his effort and NFL experience.

I agree . The Giants game was a glimpse of what he might offer this offense . He got through the Giants front and he was gone for a TD . Williams gets mugged by a safety and a brawl breaks out if he’s the ball carrier

I think if we pick someone like a Singleton on Day 3, Blue could be cut, unless his attitude has improved.

Why not consider drafting another speed type RB in the late rounds..per according to our draft board value ..?

I mentioned that . They have collected round five picks , three of them , they certainly can make this a camp competition.

Can we expect Williams to be available and have the season he just had or close to it? Maybe we see more of blue because we are forced to. Going into his second season he has to decide if he wants to play football or live in glamour he used to be in

He’s got to get his act together. No question .

I think this is where Schott hiring comes in when you have to figure out ways to get Blue off the bench and being the relief back , change of pace speed merchant . He had 134 carries for Texas senior season in 15 games over 5 YPC and 6 TD’s.

Williams the hammer obviously the feature back pounding the trenches then Blue comes in maybe line him up in the slot or some pitches out going wide let him use his vision to get to a hole .

This is why an offensive person was hired as HC now you have this weapon to be used . And obviously if Blue wants a second contract for bigger $$ in the league he’s got to get it together .
Blue seems to have an issue. Probably work ethic. It's not like RB is a cerebral position, yet he struggled to "get it".

While I sort of agree we can’t just ignore that we have the exact same situation in 2026 as we had in 2025….except the cowboys have a clear RB1 going into camp in Williams this year.

Blue had an excellent opportunity to be the #2 guy and get touches last year but this coaching staff didn’t put much faith in him.

If we see something in camp/preseason to get the hype train going I’ll be the first on it, but for right now the conversation is probably more about what the coaching staff needs to see from the player to get blue on the field instead of how they do it.

With just 11 snaps on special teams last year I think it’s possible Blue is a cut candidate if he doesn’t take the RB2 role.
I see the practice squad in his future.

I would agree . He’s really the only speed merchant on this team at RB . Malik Davis Phil Mafah are duplicates of Williams hammers .

The opportunity is looking right at Blue. I saw him catch TD passes in college line him up in the slot a LB cannot cover him a safety or corner will have to compensate for the speed .

He made the Giants look bad he had about 70 yards at half with a TD , the Giants were trying to win the game Mike Kafka job on the line , got fired anyway .
We don't throw to the backs. They even stopped throwing to Zeke.

What can anybody really expect ot the guy? Even if he puts the work in and impresses in TC (who cares), does anybody think he will split time with Williams? With all the weapons on offence, I see no path to him getting many touches, let alone enough to solidify us saying he's arrived. The only real way to have known if he's ready would have been to go into the season with him as RB1, with Mafa/Davis behind him. There are/will be tons of Vet RB's that could be signed at any point during the season in case he fails/gets hurt
Active on game day would be a useful start.

He does not need to take snaps away from any of them. He can come out of the back field or a RB screen. I do not mean line him up at WR all the time when he is in. Some good play action passes. He can also be the check down guy.

Or the play KC runs all the time, he can swing to the sideline within 5 yards of the scrimmage. Such as a Safety Valve pass. Other teams started using it. Even Dallas did few time last year.
By the time we go to the check down everyone in the stadium knows it's coming.

I think its less about Schottenheimer and more about Blue. His approach to the off season and camp will determine if he actually want to be a football player.

Everyone always begged for accountability and when we saw it first hand most people hated it.
I think most totally blame Blue.

Most is probably wrong, but there is a very outspoken minority because there were several posting their dissatisfaction with it.

Pollard right after half against Minn in an away game caught like a 60 yarder for a TD as Dallas steamrolled them .

That’s my point Schott & Adams need to throw to Blue have Dak catch him in space …
