Will Anderson signs a 3 year/$150 extension with the Texans

Crosby is signed through the next three seasons at $33 million a year
talk about a bargain!

This is another example of Jerry being too slow

Quennin is going to need an extension and while he is certainly not Will Anderson, his price just went up

Could have extended him a month ago and restructured to give us another $10-12m in free agency, but instead we just sat out l, content with our one average safety free agent.
Williams would have wanted to get it done. We do not know if he did or did not.
Why do fans think Jerry can automatically create these deals the fans want to whine not knowing of the player wants to or not.

For now eventually it will need to be addressed the salary cap will not continue to rise into perpetuity. When rookie contracts especially QB contracts were wrecking salary caps a new scale for rookies was made, so to will new rules need to be made for salaries NFL-wide because eventually the salary cap will contract.
Less rookie wages meant more for vets so I get it. I don’t know what incentive the players would have you agree to less money.

Most players looking for a third contract absolutely want it. None do them except Clowney want to go year to year.

Everyone knew that when we brought him on board Q was going to have an extension coming

Most of us also expected that Jerry would wait on it and create an expensive mess because that’s the Cowboy Way

It wouldn't be so bad if the Owners didn't use the salary cap rising as an excuse to raise prices of tickets, concessions, parking, etc. It's not like they don't already get plenty from advertising, broadcasting, etc.

When the nfl loses its case trying to do network deals with 20 different distributors while using its broadcast exemption…these mega huge salaries might be really bad.
Pass rushers are really important but not QB money.
I doubt they lose their case. But if the revenue was to collapse so would the league. It’s a business like any other business. If your revenue tanks you are in huge trouble. I don’t think they lose their case since every news orgaizatikn from fox to cnn have paid, online distribution of their product too. And they have the same licenses

If I was a team owner or Gm I would let picks know a new contract can be discussed in year 4 if as a team we are interested . This tearing up contracts year 3 is Will Anderson . If some teams stuck to the 4 year policy it clears things up .

Gotta look at these rookie extensions (key word) differently than FA contracts.

This 50 per year doesn't take affect for 2 more years. His contract still has a couple years at rookie rates.

Wait a few years and these will be bargains. That’s just the way it works. NFL revenue just keeps growing and players get nearly half the revenue
Funny I heard the Minnesota Wild (NHL team) have the highest paid player in the league by 20% at 17million per year.
