It should, we basically get a bye week after our thanksgiving bye week.

I don’t like it either. But someone has to have an early or late bye. And we usually don’t. One of the few things the NFL doesn’t screw us over often.

For anyone like me who wants to travel to Dallas to see a game early in teh season the only option is week 2...really bizzare...

This schedule is not football conducive.

• 3 home games in the first 9 weeks?
• During this stretch, we’ll have 3 games in 10 days with one of the games being international 10hr flight, and another is away.
• On the crap end of the 8/9 home game selection.
• Then, for the dumbest of reasons, we’ll have another stretch of 3 games in 10 days before we get a bye week— teams shouldn’t have two Thurs games.
• Super late bye week
• And of course we start on the road and end on the road.

All in all I think it's a fairly decent set up for Dallas. The early part of the season could be rough while the defense is still getting it's bearings under the new DC. That's a lot of away games and some pretty tough competition in 5 of the first 7 games. It's a tough stretch of games but I think they got about as good as they could get schedule wise for the Sun/Thur/Sun/Mon swing in October. Having the early Sunday game, Thursday night game, the Sunday late game and then Monday night.
But by the middle of the season the D should be up to full speed and hopefully much improved. As long as the offense is humming they should be able to finish up strong.

Not really any cold weather games. GB, Philly, Seattle and the Giants in Sept and Oct isn’t bad.

Its crazy because every publication shows its one of the NFLs toughest schedule. Which schedule were you referring to thats easy?

Yeah that's tough, but Tenn, Jags, NYG and Wsh also in that end stretch. I think we will beat PHI on TG so I think the second half of the season, from late Nov on, could go better than the first.
We play Balt in Brazil, TB, @ GB, @ Hou and @ PHI in a 5 game stretch in the first half. That's really tough. The middle section of the season is the easiest and that's when we paly SF.

Not really a bad layout. Yes, at home 3 times in the 1st 9 weeks. But the travel time not too bad, other than the game in Brazil.
Flight time is about 10 hours or so. Coming back from Brazil then a noon game at Houston may be a bit much. But it is better than playing a late game on a Sunday, then play a Thursday game as for rest wise.
After the 2 road games at GB, Philly, home, then a 2 hours or so flight to Indy.

If they are in contention for a playoff spot, or the division, this works out very well.

2 of the last 3 at home. Then is a rarity, though they still finish on the road again. For like the 18 or so time in the last 26 years.
I will take it.

This has most of the things I like in a schedule, the exception being the "home" team in the international game.

• Open on the road. Week 1 is the most rested you'll be so the travel is no big deal.
• Finish on the road. The week 18 game has a very good chance of being meaningless, so why waste a home game on that?
• On the road after the bye. Same argument as for week 1.
• On the road after the post-Thanksgiving mini-bye. Ditto.
• No three-weeks-on-the-road stretches and only one back-to-back road pair (ok, two if we count Brazil followed by @HOU).. Unfortunately, @PHI is the back end of that.

Sure, it can work out that way. But they are interested in matchups for eyeballs & building for the playoffs when they build the late season schedule.

12-5 in my heart
10-7 in my head

There should only be 2 bye weeks for all teams in the middle of season.
Week 8 half the teams get a bye, week 9 half the teams get a bye then it is done, and no early or late byes for any team !!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is very simple and all teams get the bye when they need it. Much more fair.
Also it would even out the W/L records for all except the one week.

Unlike the past few seasons I dont really see a murderous 3-4 game stretch. Hell I think we caught a few breaks

Sunday night @ GB coming off a Thursday night game

Then Monday night after that GB game

Monday night after the Thanksgiving game and then a bye before we have to play again
