They are just tackles , and can be 1 inch behind Los and it is a mystical sack,.
Fans have been brain washed by the nfl and announcers about "sacks"

If the Cowboys offense is as good as last year - or better, the defense should have a lot more opportunities to get sacks. I am assuming the run defense improves a little bit. However, I don't see the pass rush as much improved so it would not surprise me to see Gary lead the team with 6 or 7 sacks. But it is also possible for Quinnen Williams to have that many too.

Ridiculous take. Say they are overrated if you want. Meaningless is just a silly comment. DCs all try to get pressure. OCs all try to prevent pressure.there is a reason. Sacks end drives and create 3rd and long situations and turnovers.

Other than a turnover they net you the most advantage of any defensive plsy since it usually means a loss of yards. And is also demoralizing to the oline. It also makes some QB’s nake quicker and sometimes bad decisions

The only prediction I will make about sacks is this.....more than last year.

I was shocked that we had any sacks last season

The QB for other teams seemed just as comfortable in the pocket as i was on the couch

I'm not sure any 1 player has double digits sacks, but I will say as a team they have at least 50 sacks. I won't try to guess how many each player will get or who will get the most, but I think the team (and at least 1 player) will surprise the league! And I think they, as a whole, will have more than expected and enough pass rush to make the defense formidable by seasons end.

I hope you are right but only 3 teams had 50 sacks last year (and also only 3 in 2024) and I can't see any way this team is near the top of the league in sacks. I'd sign up for 45 right now if offered and maybe even 40. Who knows, maybe we break out but in order to get to 50 it will require someone getting to double digits IMO and maybe some praying......
