I’m all for replacing guys but before I think about replacing guys like Turpin and Ferg I need fill holes. Replacing guys like Turpin and Ferg just isn’t high on the list right now with limited resources.

How do you get better as a team if you don’t continually look to improve the roster .

Maybe Spann Ford or one of these 26 UDFA TE’s give you more bang for the buck in the passing game and blocking . It’s not like Kellen Winslow is holding down the job

It’s overblown honestly. I’m not concerned with him. Didn’t he lead us in touchdowns? A solid redzone target. I’m all for a upgrade but I’m not worried about him.

Yes, he had some bad drops and fumbles and his yards were low for the number of catches he got, but we could do a lot worse than Ferguson as an outlet while we try to get the ball downfield to Lamb and Pickens.

Exact Same thing we heard some people selling last off-season.
Then: Ferguson 82 receptions. Spann-Ford 9 receptions.

Nothing to see here. The battle is for #2.
Spann-Ford is key because he is our best blocking TE.

Spann Ford had 13 targets in 25 . So put the 9 receptions in context don’t just blow him off to career back up .

The more you go into seasons with the same starters with no real competition for playing time keep settling for non playoff success and that goes for all positions .

I agree. But those at the top here don’t adhere to this. Please send this memo to the attention of Jerry and Stephen Jones.

In the past, any player with a size-able contract will start. Period. Jerry hates paying for people who aren’t on the field.

Same with head coaches. He would seemingly rather lose with a HC with a year left on his deal than fire them and eat the last year.

Ferguson fell victim to the Cowboy brand and his slight success. I think he should be cut to be honest. Whatever dawg he had in 2023 is gone

I don’t think anyone is “handed” a job though. If Ferg sucks they will replace him. It’s a Not For Long league. You’re only as good as your last snap. Ferg is a good football player. I’m not entirely sure where the disdain is coming from.

I don’t think you’re being realistic here. In this salary cap era I don’t think you can cut solid players. The offense line is wasn’t flawless but they were beating teams up. They were setting the tone in a lot of games and they are young.
