Nobody's won more, led more, loved more and has been loyal more to this franchise. He's the greatest Dallas Cowboy of all time. Living or dead.

So many potential worthy choices - Lilly, Renfro, Aikman, Irvin, Smith. I have to go with Roger Staubach. Not many men could be out of football for five years and come back to play at the level that he did. Fantastic leader, you'd be hard pressed to find someone more competitive and determined. His teammates swear by him, and he was so proficient at his job that he was called Captain America. Hard to beat that.

Roger and Lilly to me are tied. Joined at the hip. Can't have one without the other.It would be an injustice and doesn't tell the truth if you put one guy above the other. Roger put this franchise on the map at a time when the Nation was still hurting. He helped morph us into America's team. That never happens without him. He was the star on the helmet. But Lilly on the defense was what Roger was on offense. He elevated the team and made them better emotionally too. They each instilled a belief we lacked before. We do not win the first SB without Lilly. We don't get to it without Roger. They catapulted this franchise and turned us into something almost mythological. Each time we hit the field after 1973, you never thought we could lose, no matter the score. So, for me, its Roger and Lilly both are 1A.
