Yes we get it...a center has to hike the ball to the QB so he can throw Immaculate Reception. We get it.

But if you cannot grasp the simple concept of player/play imporatnce assessment...I just don't know what to tell you. It's very odd. I think you know. I htink you are playing devils advocate here here.

If it were any other player...you;d prolly say "yep dat boy just won the game" or just ignore it all together. But...it's Dak. And he's getting picked on!

We can agree to disagree and that's fine. You said "you think I know but im playing devils advocate because its Dak and he's being picked on"?

Well its a great thing that you aren't getting paid to think because you'd be unemployed and homeless. Let me help you out here a lil bit. Ive been talking about how much football is a team game well before anyone knew who Dak was.

I remember when Scott Norwood missed that kick that could have won the Bills a ring. I felt really bad for him and im definitely not a Bills fan, but I do realize that had the Bills offense gotten a couple more 1st downs, or TDs, had the defense made more stops, it wouldn't have come down to that kick attempt.

For the people that blamed Norwood, I can't knock them for that, but if thats the case, who lost the other 3 Superbowls?? I'll tell you, the entire TEAM.

So back to this devils advocate thing.... apparently I've viewed football as a team game before Dak was born, so make it make sense why you would believe that football being a team game can defend Dak in any way, when that was my belief before the world knew who Dak was....

I think you are playing because you refuse to answer my important questions.

You think anyone who talks about a player (really just Dak - you've not had a problem talking about say...Aubrey) thinks it's not a team game.

It's incredibly stupid and insulting...going on and on about it.

I've asked you several quesations you've avoided. Let's try just ONE and see how it goes.

I think the whole debate about this "team" thing is, although you are right, there are times that one player, or one play can and does cost games for a team. IMHO

You'd probably want to avoid interfering in holding people accountable for "not answering questions", because I silenced you with just one or two simple questions using your own logic/narratives and you've avoided me like you owe me money.

Why do some of you run, duck and hide from questions thats formatted in the narratives you created? Ive never understood that.

The part you're missing is this. Yes. football is very much a team game. I've often heard it described as the ultimate team game. No argument there.

BUT

It does quite often come down to individual plays that ultimately decide the outcome. Your Norwood example is a perfect example. Is the loss entirely on him? Heck no. Any other teammate could have made a play in the preceding 60 minutes to avoid the need for that FG attempt. Did it come down to that one play? Heck yes. Did Norwood fail to make the play? Heck yes. Did the Bills ultimately lose because Norwood didn't make that play? Heck yes.

See what I'm saying? Both things are true. Plays could have been made to win that game AND that play ultimately lost the game.

Norwood is reviled in Buffalo for that play.
Jackie Smith is reviled by many in Dallas.
Billy Buckner is reviled in Boston.

All of them had the game in their hands and failed. It is unfortunate that it came down to that and plays weren't made by the team to avoid that BUT ultimately they were the ones who ended up in that situation with the entire game riding on them.

That's just how it goes no matter how much of a "team game" we think it is.

I definitely agree with you. There are key plays in games that can swing the momentum and trajectory of a game, no doubt but even still.... even the most elite and clutch quarterbacks to have ever lived only can do so in a game involving so many moving parts.

And that's why they have to step up and strike when the iron is hot. Such as 1st down inside the 15 or at the end with the opposing defense on it's heels in a 3 point game.

It is literally what makes them elite and clutch.

Dak has been neither in those situations.

Yes... "Eye of the tiger" ESPECIALLY if the chips are down or things are HOT. ..I have seen 'hommes make just flat out unbelievable play for three yards. But it just made the game winable.

To deny this happens...is...well....maybe I shouldn't say it anymore.

It's called judgement and discernment. QB's get the brunt of it (sometimes deserved sometimes not) let's stop this protect Dak at all cost nonsense.

If you can't appreciate one player or one play can change a game...not even sure why you'd watch. Who doesn't love a hero?

Just for ***** and giggles.... lets say, we made it to the Superbowl this year and our kicker misses a 60 yard in the last few seconds for the win.

Most fanbases would blame that kicker who missed the fg, but who do you believe most people here, FROM WHAT YOU READ DAILY, would blame for the loss?

(I'll give you a lifeline hint) and this is for 5000 Dollars here on Cowboys Jeopardy.

These same folks blamed this player for us failing to make the playoffs last season despite him playing on a offensive unit that ranked top 5, he was top 5 at his position and the team he played on had a 32nd ranked defense..... here's your last hint. He's not a defense player....

I was making the point if you have aspirations for winning in the playoffs you need to win your division to do it.

I’ve noticed anytime you have a good rebuttal the response is ignored or they pretend they don’t see it lol.

Great points, but all elite, clutch quarterbacks aren't guaranteed to win a Superbowl.... and all Superbowl winning quarterbacks weren't always elite or clutch.

Now elite and clutch quarterbacks do increase your chances.
