Quinnen Williams on how the Defense will "tremendously" improve

I guarantee they are more professional than Jerry Jones ...... I have never seen their GM drunk on camera grouping teenage strippers or talking smack about how he tricked the fan base into giving him a stadium deal, or threatening to get rid of radio show hosts because they called him out, or getting arrested for driving away from a traffic stop, or suing his abandoned children for being vetted by the secret service.
Strong is the hate with this one.

I’m buying it. I’m in. I’m fully in.

Between Q, Caleb, CP and the rest…both younger and older, the defense has a good shot to be better than this offense that most take for granted.

Let’s see…..

The Jets? A real front office?
Say what you will, but the Jets front office, through its many changes, has massively outperformed the JonesBoys front office in the 21st Century. They've won more playoff games and been to two CCGs.

Playoff wins in the 21st Century so far:

Jets 6
Cowboys 4

CCG appearances

Jets 2
Cowboys 0

Cowboys fans have no room to laugh at the Jets' front office.

Already answered this ...... Has the GM of the Jets ever done any of the crap Jerry has?
Yes. Joe Douglas was ridiculous and that was just the tail end of a 20 year stretch of nonsense. They also have a godawful owner who does a lot of the same meddlesome crap as Jerry.

They didn’t even win their division in either of those years. They just had a good playoff run and faced some underperformers

Source: followed the Jets for decades

Edit: took out non productive hso :)

Crabs haven't been a thing for like 40 years now.
Tell me about it. Waxing and manscaping have kept those rascals on the run in developed nations.

I usually run upon them during visits to Africa, Asia and South America where their numbers are still strong and no sign of extinction due to "deforestation"

Just waxing nostalgic......

Hey ...... you can bet on Jerry if ya want.

But I do not believe that their owner and GM has acted like Jerry Jones

When you think about it, they cant be any worse than they were last season, even if dallas moves up one rank from where they were before, that is progress in some way.

I believe we have made enough changes to not be last in the league. I dont need them to step on the field and prove it to know that.
I agree, and better on defense will mean more wins, and we had 8 wins last year, so four more would make 12.
It could happen. It is a sure thing they will be better on defense.

Jets?

Also if they can stay healthy, and get used to Parkers communication concept and scheme, that should make it even better. I am not expecting them to be perfect, they will bust some play with miscommunication at times, but just get the hang of it, and make more good plays than bad ones, and they should be OK.

By year two, they should hopefully be ready to compete for top 15-10.

Bet on Jerry? I’m one of his most vicious critics and get the dreaded “Eagles Lover” tag from a few of our regulars who get their feelings hurt when their leader is criticized.

As to Woody and the Jets, it’s a topic I’m pretty familiar with.

He wears his Woody and the Jets bling unironically. He said he was inspired by his players. 80 carats of emeralds and diamonds.

Google “worst owner in the NFL” and his name comes up every time along with Jimmy Haslam.

His players slam him in the players surveys, his fans hate him and his front office is always filled with backbiting and politics.

He does many of the same things Jerry does. He meddles constantly with operations, undermines staff, attempts to foster personal relationships with players so as to prop up his ego, but at the same time will crap on them both publicly and privately.

One other thing he is criticized for is the insane turnover in his front office. In that respect he’s very different from Jerry, who never fires anyone as long as they kiss the (thirty year old) ring.

The one good thing I can finally say about the Jets is that in 2026 and 2027 they have a massive amount of draft capital, largely because they traded away their two best players and Jerry and Chris Ballard were both willing to overpay.

But, despite my history with the Jets, don’t take my word for it, go to a Jets forum and see what they say. That is if you ever even think of the Jets outside of the subject of Quennin, which describes most everyone around here, for which I blame no one, lol.

Last year's defense was derailed by injuries, the distraction of contract talks and the ill-timed trade of their best player and one of the best in the league.

The Cowboys had four different starting CBs in their first four games. The DC had to completely redesign his strategy which I'm sure was originally based around Micah Parsons.

They also lost their other Pro Bowl pass rusher, D-Law, to free agency.

Professionals or not, their morale had to be low entering he season after all the injuries and controversy.

The Cowboys defense became a lot younger this season and their new DC has an upward trajectory.

I expect improvement and with good fortune and better health, this defense could sneak up on some teams.

I expect the DTs, Williams and Clark, to have a tremendous impact. They came in late and were unfamiliar with their teammates. This preseason they will lead them.

yes they will make mistakes, I just want them to be aggressive, and take chances , and adapt quickly if something isnt working.
Parker said he wants to be aggressive on 1st and 2nd downs to get them in 3rd and long. I like that, as that is when the other team is likely to make a mistake.
I also want them to cover recievers closely, not play back and wait for the to catch the pass lol.

is this a picture of the owner??

I'm very curious to see if the D gives the offense trouble in TC then to get an idea of how they do in the joint practice with the Rams. I think we'll learn the most from that joint practice, until Game 1, anyway.

Being a bad owner ........ and being a maniac like Jerry are 2 diff things.

Again has he ever been in the news for suing the children he abandoned?

Has he ever been filmed drunk in public groping teenage fans?

Has he ever been arrested for thinking he is above the law?

Because Jerry has done all that and more ....... along with being a bad GM and owner.

No comparison.
