Yep, I even remember Steven in a follow up interview stating that either would have been the pick over Parsons.

Parsons was just like Lamb. He fell into their lap.

There is a certain luck element to the whole drafting process.
It's just most of the times the Cowboys are the unlucky ones.
This time they were'nt.

I liked Sewell a lot in that draft.

And we needed a good tackle with Tyron already having injury issues.

Could have spared us this desaster we have been through (and still are in) at LT.

But even after Parsons left i am ok with that pick. The only negative to say about it the pick didnt change a lot in the time he was with us.

Whew…..5 out of the first 15 picks were QBs and only 1 has shown to be an NFL caliber QB. Not a premier NFL QB, but at least has shown an ability to be an average to above average players.

All of those but Lance were pretty good college QBs. I think it's more of a statement about the differences between (most) college football and NFL. Competition, schemes, for starters. Teams like Ohio State can build better than their general competition, helpin gthe QB, then they get thrown to the NFL wolves.

It's crazy how teams still over value the QB's in the draft just because they are a QB. Other than Trevor Lawrence the others were straight meh.

Parsons was the right pick. Had they had an earlier pick Surtain would have been a good pick too. Sewell was my favorite for that draft for Dallas and I would have been happy with Slater even though in retrospect he has been hurt quite a bit.

Not trying to challenge you just a softball question. What has Trevor accomplished that the other QBs haven't?

It's okay to just do QB stuff not "it's a team game" I'm okay with that.

Yup, me too.
I was torn between Sewell and Slater as tackles.

I remember having lengthy discussions over which position is more impactful and/or important to team success, the elite pass rusher or the left tackle.

I recall both sides having strong arguments to support their views.

Well, it appears with all the injury issues he's dealing with, the pride is GOING to be feeding him for the for see able future..................LOL!

I do question how good Surtain would have been here without Denver's pass rush. I think he's a great corner no matter what, but playing on a top defense always makes that easier.
