Dak - I'm not going to shy away from (Super Bowl talk)

I love the HUMBLE crowd. Like it matters. Be brash, be humble... all of the talk makes zero difference.

"We will win the ballgame, and you can put it in three-inch headlines. We will win the ballgame."
I’ve seen teams be humble and go 0-16 lol. Doesn’t work either lol. Crying over confidence is a low for Cowboy fans but hey….

Warning: Extremely long post

Did some minor research starting with Google AI Mode, where I posed the question, "What is a time range in terms of years when quotations have been cited by Google that Google AI can efficiently locate quotations by keywords and NFL player names?"

Answer: Google AI can efficiently locate quotes using keywords and NFL player names across two primary, distinct time ranges: 2000 to the present for highly detailed web articles, and the late 1800s to 2004 for digitized print archives.

The answer gave me a working range of 2000 to present. Using stathead.com, I used the range and compiled a list of all quarterbacks who have started a minimum of 16 games.

I moved to ChatGPT after Google AI mode could not compile data using the following criteria:
  • Perform a best-effort count search (it could not perform a detailed search)
  • Keyword phrase is "Super Bowl"
  • Search range is the years 2000 to 2026
  • Include the months of March through August only
  • Count the number of approximate distinct quotes quoted by the following NFL players (distinct instead of each since numerous sources re-publish individual quotes)
  • Do not cite each quote source
ChatGPT's pre-results response: Using a best-effort approach (publicly indexed interviews, press conferences, feature stories, team media, and news coverage), and restricting attention to March–August during 2000–2026, here are approximate counts of distinct quotations in which each quarterback used the phrase "Super Bowl." These are estimates rather than exhaustive totals because not all historical interviews and transcripts are publicly searchable.
ChatGPT's post-results response: These counts are intended as approximate distinct quote totals, not exact archival counts. Repeated publication of the same interview across multiple outlets was treated as a single quote whenever it could reasonably be identified as such.

These are the results sorted from most to least by approximate totals:

They act like the shirt says 2026 SB champions lol….

They would’ve hate Jason Terry. He got a championship trophy before the Mavs won….why? Because he’s not weak minded or scary.
That Mavs team was more likely to win a championship when he got it than this Cowboys team is. When you are 2-5 in the playoffs, there is no sign that, that is going to change, and you make bold statements, then you might get laughed at.

That would require any sort of sense of humor. Your guys' laugh is more like a heckle.

No they weren’t lol. Mavs had never won a championship in their existence. They weren’t even favored to beat the Lakers. You are revising history. I remember people saying Terry was stupid for it. It was a permanent tattoo and you guys are crying about w vintage t shirt from the 90s lol. You guys just getting soft.

We are men not children. Since when are we afraid to get laughed at?

Dak just said what most fans are already saying, and people still get upset SMDH.

Why worry about the laughter of people on the board. I was talking about the Country laughing at the cowboys by claims put out there not just by Jerrah, but by a quarterback as well. I mean, if you like people laughing at the Cowboys and our fanbase...

People loved when Jimmy was bold but hate it when Dak is.
If only Schott was Jimmy and this team was the 90s one.
THEN, and only THEN, he could talk.

Other than that it's just another distraction for reporters to hound the players at every opportunity the minute they lose a game...

"But Dak, you mentioned Super Bowl with this team in a previous Training Camp interview, how have things changed?"

And then this reporter type line of questioning will just keep going and going and going.

Kind of a distraction if ya ask me.

No one is laughing outside of DDS fans here. It's an illness. Or, fans of other teams. It's wild so many of you are triggered.

Top 1% of all college football players make the league even less get starting opportunities or signficant amount of time and they are losers?

Bro, they wake up being more successful than any of us comparatively speaking.

Getting this worked up because a team leader, one of the best QBs in the game today sets the tone early just wearing that shirt is TikTok bot level absurdity
Seriously?
Be publicly arrogant about being a Super Bowl team after his previous 10 years worth of results?

To each his own.
LOL

I live here in Dallas, I don't remember people at work too upset for Terry doing that. Not that Basketball is the main sport here, but still. But lets say with Dirk that the Mavs record before that season in the playoff was around 49-55. Well that is a whole lot better than a 2-5 record. A lot more games won, so a lot more likely to happen than the Cowboys going to the superbowl this year. At least at the time I thought the mavs then had a better chance at doing something in the playoffs than I do of the Cowboys this seaason. That's just my perspective.

Back in the day, when I would visit other forums to get a perspective of what people thought about up coming games, people would make fun of our fan base always thinking that we were better than we were, given holes on the team. The country does laugh at us when we make bold claims, and don't back it up. I guess you are one of those people that doesn't believe in Jimmy's manta: If you gonna talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk...

Comparing ANY sport to Football is apples to oranges. No hard cap in the NBA. No sport is more dependent on one player than the NFL. Was anyone predicting a Seattle VS Pats Super Bowl last season in August? I didnt think so.

Here are the consensus odds in August 2025 (prior to the start of the 2025 NFL regular season) to win Super Bowl LX:

  • Denver Broncos: +2500 (25–1)
  • Seattle Seahawks: +6000 (60–1)
  • New England Patriots: +8000 (80–1)

Current Cowboys odds: Heading into training camps, consensus sportsbooks place the Dallas Cowboys between +2200 and +3000 (roughly 22–1 to 30–1) to win Super Bowl LXI. Most major sportsbooks (like BetMGM and Fanatics) currently settle on +2500.

ANYTHING can happen in the NFL. I always sit and wonder how any of you that think because of what happened 5 years ago, that means Dallas has no shot, I wonder why you even watch the games? Seattle was 60-1 last year odds.Yea, anything can happen.

Other fan bases make fun of Dallas when they were 13-3. Its the way it goes. Who cares what others do. Do youthink other fans were sitting back in awe and so impressed and told you everyday at work how great the Cowboys were in the middle of the 90s teams' run? Hell no they didnt, they talked even more smack for every loss. They sucked because they didnt go 19-0 every season.

Oh...an Internet Psychologist? Whereveryou got your degree from ask for your money back!

Because Jimmy was tough and won.
Tough.... you do know Jimmy would never last in todays NFL? You do know these guys practice for a couple of hours and are done? Then practice 2 days and need a day off. Practice in shorts and no hitting is allowed. Get mandatory water breaks.... and you think that tough old Jimmy would just walk in and change the culture? bahahahhahahahahahahahh

Just like in College now. Why you think Saban RAN away from Alabama once the player portal was in full swing. The rules have changed my friend. Unfortunately the fan base has not caught up to the times.

Forums, like this one are TINY percentages of the actual total fanbase...10 million fans in the U.S VS 11,000 hear. It's an echo chamber.
