Opinions on Trigg

I spent a couple of series focusing on Trigg. Thought he played well enough. I expected him to appear to be more of a very raw boom or bust project. Granted, it’s a tough assessment vs mostly camp bodies, but it seems as if he can play in the league, and I did not notice him to be an unwilling blocker. What did everyone else see?

He passed the eye test for me, looked good. Baylor alum so rooting for him.

Caught mostly out routes. Surprised we never saw him running those seam routes. It appeared that Schotty didn’t want to throw down field much.

Everyone is down on Schoon, and rightfully so, but remember he didn’t draft himself, and he wasn’t awfull filling in for Ferg. Just not sure if they can keep four TE with Lupke around.

My question is can he play some FB.

His short area quickness really stood out. He comes off the line like a bullet from a gun. If he gets his routes a little more crisp he could be a problem.

Id rather keep him and drop schoonmaker. We know what Schoonmaker is... JAG. At least with Trigg, we can hope he can be a stud inthe making. Schoonmaker is never going to be a stud.

Again, we will never be impressed with our TE2, because we have never run a 2 TE system other than to block. That is not going to change anytime soon with this WR group either.

If he can learn how to block in-line and drop the discipline issues(disciplined at Ol' Miss due to missed practices and locker room issues and benched at Oxford), dude can play. Not sure we want to count on a problem child.

We are not keeping 4 TEs and Schoomaker plays on all ST teams and I don't think Trigg has played special teams ever so he needs to replace Schoon on ST if he wants to make the 53.

same thing I keep saying bud, on the one run by milton maybe milton gets in if trigg blocks a little better

I’d be willing to take a shot at the upside, but yeah guys like him rarely pan out. Hence the thread.

Exactly, and we already know Schoon can at least start a couple games and not be terrible. I’m not ready to trash him, but I’d like to keep Trigg around. The other two seem like locks, then there’s the Lupke factor….

If they hadn't been dumb enough to spend a second on Schoon, he'd have been cut in first camp. I still don't understand why we gave Leupke that kind of contract.

I completely get that every team needs some "dirty work" players but I have never seen anything out of him that you shouldn't be able to find quite easily for min wage.
