Offensive Tackle Drew Shelton

Although Drew Shelton played right tackle at Penn State, he primarily played left tackle. My hope is that his cross-training at both positions at the NFL level will get smoother as time passes. This offensive line needs more starter-level quality opinions at both positions.

Anyone watch him last night? He was terrible. 3rd stringers were working him over. Discouraged about that debut. They need OTs to step up.

Any thoughts?
Yup, good call. Looked horrific.
Guyton rookie year flashbacks for real.
At least they didn't use a first rounder on him too though.
So that's good.
And a 3 year waiting game makes sense for development.

When drafted they said he needed a year or so to get stronger. Give him a year or so.

I remember lots 0' folks slamming the Mr Tyron Smith pick during camp n preseason/season...they seemed to forget he was only 20 years old at the time...believe the prevailing whine was " wasted first rounder...shoulda drafted Mr Watt"***

Give young Mr Shelton a chance.

Geez

Go Cowboys!

***of course Mr Watt would have been a great pick...post is about slamming young Mr Smith

People were disappointed in him at Penn State and he was looked at as a reach when he was drafted. As others said, he is a year 2 or 3 player if he is going to become functional. Likely just a bad draft pick.

Team shouldn't feel they are required to stick with draft picks. If there are players available on the waiver wire who are better as cuts happen, be quick with the trigger. Put him on the practice squad.
