Milton or Howell?

Agree with many that Milton looked vastly better and like a competent backup. Frankly the entire team looked like it hadn’t in a preseason game in a long long time, competent

Strange how so many are giving Milton props considering how he's been so widely poo poo'd the entire time he's been here.
C'mon man..........I don't recall any posters giving him props before last night's game. Even now, most are clearly adding its early or one-game disclaimer.

If Dak goes down for 4 games, who do you trust more not to make stupid decisions?
Hard to say but Howell has been with 5 teams for a reason. Milton, at least, has some physical traits that can help a bit more. You can probably buy two games with either one, but after that, your defense and coaching need to step up big time. Hell, this is probably the same as 75-80% of teams' backup QBs if we are being honest.

I'll go with Milton. They could go either way.
That is why I gave you the two scenarios If the Cowboys are still in contention they're gonna go with Howell if they're looking like it's a lost season sure they they will finish it with Milton They'll both be on the team one will be emergency one won't be but I promise you that I know what the coaching staff is thinking and the way they've been talking all year they are not handing the ball off to Milton because he doesn't have the experience in a season that I wanna lose again because they had two losing seasons now mostly because of the defense and injuries and they are not handing the keys to this car of this offense to a person who has not that anything in this league yet sam Howell maybe a guy like Cooper Rush never be a frontline starter but with this offense I can promise you with those weapons he can make things happen He's been there he's done it he it's not too big for him..

Yes both scenarios are possible that means we don't have to pick either one 'cause they both be on the team they'll both be on the roster and more than likely Howell will get the nod to be the immediate number two just like Cooper Rush that's why Lance and Milton have to wait their turn because they have yet to prove themselves And this Cowboys offense is like a Mercedes you're not getting the keys to a Mercedes when you haven't proven you can drive it yet you're gonna get the beater your parents gave to you..lol

No confidence in either, really, but I'd go with the one who at least has played meaningful games

Just one game but Milton looks 100% better than last year. I think he will lock down his backup QB spot with a similar performance next week. Yes, Howell has more experience, but Milton's potential ceiling is much higher. Being younger and costing a 4th-rounder, this is now his job to lose, IMO.

Tough battle both looked equally good.

The third string OL was so much better than the second string was. Better pass protection, much better run blocking. That being said, Milton looked much better. Competition is very close, probably comes down to a gut decision. I’d feel more comfortable with Howell.

I would too, but if all things are equal, I don't see Jerry and the coaching staff taking a chance on putting Milton on the practice squad vs Howell not so much.

Just 1 preseason game in the books, I would go with Howell over Milton... If DAK goes down a QB with game time experience is a must. Milton is such a wild card and has no game time experience...Lets have this discussion in a couple weeks,,,we will no more then
If Sam or Milton could pull a Dak on Dak it would be amazing
