Camden Brown putting on a show

Brown has to really show himself on special teams units.

Where he would be slotted in the receiver depth chart wouldn’t provide him a lot of snaps in the offense. He’s very good at contested catches, doesn’t run the full route tree.

Those fade routes get people excited but that doesn’t mean he’s anything close to a complete receiver. I would wager good money the coaching staff probably sees Mingo as more capable of stepping in any taking over #3 duties (which is a big role) should someone go down than Brown which is what folks don’t understand.
Dude’s been doing it since he stepped on the Cowboys practice field. Not many WR’s can make catches like he did last night.

Yep, contested catches, body control especially on the fade in the endzone. Those are special abilities you cant teach. His route across the middle was a very nice route as well!

Yes he did and I give him all the props look great last night however I've seen dudes do this like holden last year and we've seen Jalen Cropper hell it wasn't even Jalen Cropper for us I saw him do it the first preseason game for whatever team he was playing I forget I heard Jalen Cropper for like a really big catch...

So as much as we like to get hyped up about these preseason and camp pet cat types we need to let it play out...

Yes I've heard he's been showing out in practice and he did it some in the scrimmage and now he backed it up but again we just keep see a lot of these guys play great in the preseason but they don't really break out in any of the roster moves during the regular season,

they they don't even start one game or play any kind of snaps..

Please give him some runs with the 1s in the rest of the pre-season.
runs? The starters will not play this preseason but if you want him to come in in the first couple of series that's a whole different debate But we've seen these type of guys ,

holden last year Jalen Cropper many times and they don't work out in the regular season at all..

I mean when has Mingo done anything like that? Never.

Time to cut our losses with Mingo.
If GP is a goner next year, the next man up is yet again a reality. I don't see a world this guy gets many looks though, at least not early on

The 1st team in preseason. Not with Dak, Ceedee etc. Schoon was a starter this game and id rather see what Trigg has to offer against stiffer competition. We know what we have in Schoon.

So, based on 1 preseason game against scrubs? The kid did look great, but the overreactions in here are on par with what was expected. If he does make the team, who gets cut? Would he be WR5?
It’s just a reaction to dominating against scrubs. As a rookie. People improve and he’s already shown improvement from college to now. If he never becomes more than a WR3 that’s still massive for a UDFA

Scrubs or not those were contested catches. It’s not like the DBs were lost and out of the play. Your average 3rd or 4th DB on a play (which is who he’d matchup against) isn’t going to do a hell of a lot better. He made the plays and that bodes well for his chances.

Last year, Fluornoy was WR5, beating out Holden. Mingo was on IR as I recall.

I think Schottenheimer sees WR5 as a developmental spot.

This year i think that’s Brown. Hes huge, plays big, had had a great preseason and if he were released, I don’t think he gets picked up and never makes it to the practice squad like Fluornoy did last year.

I could see them stash Mingo again.

Last nights proformance wasn't a one off time. He's been showing up all through camp. It's too little to give him a roster spot now but I'm a bettin man.

Start him next game. We may have something. Players that dominate camp and then show out in the preseason games tend to end up special players.

His postgame interview talking about his sister. What an incredible young man, very poised, very respectful, very humble.

Even if he wasn't a Cowboy I would be cheering for him.
