Has Camden Brown made the 53?

Brown for now is the star of TC and PS game 1.
Now a fan favorite.
We see this year after year.

He solidified more opportunities. But let’s see more from him and others first.
I still have Mingo ahead of Brown. For speed, experience and ST’s.

Brown will most likely clear waivers and be on the PS.

Teams will look at their own players first for PS players.
If he is claimed off waivers that team must put him on the 53 man roster.
You don't usually get a rookie through waivers if they have big games.

You have a good point. I'm glad that the Cowboys played Camden with the first string in training camp practice, so that he gets to face better and better competition. It was great to see him against 2nd and most likely 3rd string corners... but it will be revealing when he lines up against 1st string corners over the next preseason games. I hope he gets that chance, Flournoy and Turpin don't need too many 1st string reps. Let him reveal his skill, because he's elevating his game against every challenge in front of him so far.

So, I'm just wrangling, and the discussion in this thread has rightly has pointed out that Camden doesn't have the sharpest routes yet, so that could prevent him from having such success against 1st string.

In the meantime, his performance either dictates a mysterious injury for the PUP list, or hide him away and hope that the rest of the league presumes that he won't have any success against starting corners, and forget about him with a goldfish memory when it is time for the waiver wire.
Hope he gets a chance to play regular season...but if so...he'll likely get 3rd cover man. That's almost 2nd string.

Jury is still out Cam. In the end it will depend on how many WRs we keep. CeeDee, GP, Flo. and Turp. are on the 53.

Luckily, route running is something that can be coached. He has a lot of the things that can’t be, like hands, tracking the ball, body control, etc.
Yes and no. Route running requires the physical ability to make sharp cuts and the instincts to know when and how. If you lack in those depts, only so much coaching can do.

Nobody should make the 53 based on his performance in one game. However, his ability to make tough catches and get 50-50 balls is duly noted.
Yup. Now, if he can just start working on his route running, maybe we can see what he can actually do.

So weird. The guy has consistently made plays in camp. He made two great plays in his first game. But people still poo-poo him.

What does he have to do and, more importantly, who are you keeping instead of him? You think that player has done more than he has?

He is too slow.

4.61 40 time.

Don’t think it’s just a couple of circus catches. He has arguably had one of the best training camps and they even elevated him to first team reps for practice a few times.
They obviously see something and are looking at him very hard. I think he makes the 53.
You might be right, what I consider a circus catch, it just wasn’t a flow, he had to adjust his body, in order to bring the ball in, it just wasn’t a natural drop

Haven't seen anyone poopooing him. This is a discussion on whether he makes the 53 or not, so we're pointing out the yay's and nay's.

What does he have to do: Consistently create separation. Stop rounding off his routes.

They will for sure keep 5 with Brown being one of the 5, but I do think there is a chance they keep 6, and if they do the conversation should be who is going to be the 6th? Mingo, Scant, Smith?

Which position do they go lighter in? I’m thinking RB or TE, with Hunter being able to play both HB and TE. I also think Shoon could be the odd man out if Trigg continues to play well and develop. I also think the top 3 backs are Williams, Blue and Davis.

I will be interested to see how this shakes out for sure.
