To true fellow Cowboy fans. it's OK to be excited

Pollyanna = a person who is overly or blindly optimistic, cheerful, and expects a good outcome in every situation, often ignoring REAL problems. We should just call you Rockyanna. LOL!
Or we can simply be aware that the REAL problems are outside our control, and just enjoy football for what it's meant to be: entertainment.

I get plenty of negativity elsewhere in life. I just want to have fun and watch the Cowboys play, not live in a constant state of depression and cynicism year in and year out.

Yes, I want things to change and for this team to return to greatness. Making myself fret over it constantly would make me not wait for the season to end.

And the hate gets to the point they don't even let themselves enjoy the wins.

I get that we are all sick and tired of the 30 year title drought, but if we cannot allow ourselves to be happy at any kind of win outside of a Super Bowl, that's terrible.

All that does is make being a fan of the team a miserable experience devoid of any type of joy whatsoever until a Super Bowl is won. And even if we ever see that, they will drift back into depression until it happens again.
It’s sad that there’s so many of them. Like the guy above trying to make fun of a positive person all the while not know how childish he looks like

I prefer Rocky Horror but there might be a copyright preventing it.

Hey-yo!
.
.

I mean if you have standards you should be kind of miserable. I still personally enjoy football season but in the first 30 years of the Super Bowl era, the Cowboys played in the game to go to the Super Bowl 16 times. The last 30 years, not even One(1) championship game. Yeah, pretty miserable..
I feel that, I really do. But some people don't even enjoy the wins. I get being frustrated because I am too. But football is meant to be fun and I decided several years ago to stop allowing it to affect my life.

I mean, I get it. I suppose a lot of fans have resigned themselves to this line of thinking. My problem is I am still hopeful that I'll get to see another Super Bowl before death. I'm just not where you are yet. A melding of apathy and resignation...

Yes, I have been through that. Was 17 and in high school without a care in the world the last time they won it all. Now 48 and lost both my parents two years apart to cancer. The changes that have occurred in that amount of time boggles the mind when I think about it.

The turning point for me was the Green Bay playoff game two plus years ago. It took something out of me. Yes, I will always love this team and root for them. But I am done with having sports results beat me up.

I want to watch the Cowboys for fun, not to get anxiety. And I totally understand if people don't agree with me. Everyone is unique.

Another one from the dark side.
You’re schtick is exhausting, seriously, do you get paid by the post and the less context they contain the more you get? I honestly don’t even believe you believe half the crap you say, it’s your identity now and you starve for attention in real life but have always been neglected so this is the only way you can get it and here I am giving you exactly what you want.

I blocked that guy years ago.

Agreed, people act like you’re supposed to stress about the team just because they do, and if you don’t, you’re somehow not a “realist” or a “true fan.”But like you said, it’s entertainment. No one’s well‑being is at stake unless you let the negativity take over.

When fans say reality or just being real. They ALWAYS follow it up with a negative comment,
such as just keeping it real, we suck, and will miss they playoffs.

I never see a fan say just keeping it real, we will make the playoffs.
They simply say we will make the playoffs.
Just keeping it real, we will make the playoffs and lose. Now you can’t say that anymore, come up with some new material.

I’ve been sayin I would for the past week. I’m finally going to do it right now, it will really clean up the threads. He adds absolutely nothing, you can’t even have a rational debate with him.

*done, blocked/ignored!

He's got to be mentally ill.

While Rocky goes out of his way to offend and insult as many people as he can. He's a sick individual.

We are finally going into a season where there is reason to believe we have a chance of winning it all. The pieces are now in place to pull it off. For all the years Jerry has held us back, you can finally give him a smidge of credit for what he did this offseason. It started with the trade of Parsons that put us a position to completely revamp the defense. Not just revamp - but improve exponentially at all levels. And despite what some morons continue to say here, we have an outstanding QB who likely plays the best season of his career. Offense will be dominant. Defense goes from being a complete liability to a strength. Of course, everyone knows that regardless of talent, certain things must go your way to win it all - but the fact is, we have a roster capable of pulling it off.

And again, in the big picture it's entertainment. Not life and death. It's meant to be fun. And for the first time in a long time, you have a team you can be proud of and have fun supporting.
We’ve had other teams this era that were fun supporting regardless the frustrating and disappointing endings .

While there’s much to be optimistic about heading into this season with upgrades of talent on defense it’s still unknown to what extent those will be and potentially how far it could take us.

I think it’s enough to believe we should have enough to return to playoffs and be more of a contender than previous more recent years.

Confidence is earned and gained after evidence is divulged . And that can only come with the results of the season as it unfolds .
Go Cowboys!!

I honestly believe that, he seems like a bot. He just gives generic “automatic” answers and can’t even debate or argue with anyone he doesn’t agree with. Seriously, at least the people who are “haters” support their arguments with facts or a rational thought, this cat contributes nothing.
