He has looked good this PS and TC for sure.

I always withhold declaring any rookie as “great” before they have played a down of regular season NFL football. A pre-season football game is simply not enough of real life NFL football to show what a rookie will be when the real bullets fly.

Not trying to douse anyone’s excitement about Barham. He does look like a good pick for sure. I’m just holding off the anointing oil until after some regular season games are played.
 
What a weapon why did he drop in draft?

I saw him as a squatty rusher like a Suggs he looks good at mlb but does anyone else think maybe not quick enough for every matchup ?

I don't have to call him great, but it's clear that at minimum, this guy reminds me of Brady James, and that's a good comparison. James was underrated for his ability to quickly dissect plays, decide whether to shed a block or find a quicker path, and track down mobile quarterbacks and running backs with both strength and agility. This is the type of player Barham brings. From the moment he was drafted, it was evident he combines aggression and physicality with instincts that some recent linebackers, like Jaylen Smith or even 55, lacked. It's reminiscent of Sean Lee, someone who could read the game exceptionally well, except Barham pairs that vision with the physical tools to execute.


Even if he starts as a role player, his versatility is impressive. He can line up as a third linebacker in sub-packages, play outside linebacker, and even rush the passer. What makes him stand out is that he’s big, strong, and physical—able to play downhill—but also agile enough to move laterally and make plays across the field.

Year one doesn’t require greatness; we need potential. We have depth with players like D. Winters and Overshown, so there’s time to develop him into the starting middle linebacker.



I'm just saying, when we saw him on draft day, most of us were very high on him after watching his Maryland and Michigan tape. He looks like the type of linebacker you build in a lab, big, strong, and instinctive. That doesn’t guarantee greatness, but we’ve seen it in every practice, scrimmage, and now preseason game.

He’s living up to expectations, and this was clearly a smart draft pick at his spot. Like much of the draft class from the last two years, he’s starting to show that he can contribute, whether as a role player or a starter, he has the potential to help the team succeed.
 
I've been a fan of this kid since high school. I went to college at the University of Maryland with his HS head coach.

He plays hard. He's Instinctive. He's smart. He's tough. He's no nonsense. He's a gamer. He's willing to do anything the coaches ask of him.

Needless to say I was super happy about him committing to Maryland out of HS and unhappy about him leaving for Michigan. But, once a Terp, always a Terp.

Glad the Cowboys landed him and hope that he develops into a heckuva player in Dallas. Rooting for the kid at a position of need.

He look quicker than I imagined. Quick.moving feet.and change of direction.
Disengaged well from blocker.
Game I still a little fast for him, he was a little indecisive in some plays and got caught in no man's land chasing the play. but he is a rookie, in his first ever NFL game, so that's understandable.

I think he will be fine
