Stock up/down

Fingers crossed for this guy. Had hoped he'd make a jump in year 2 and be able to push Steele at RT.

Guess he didn't make that leap just yet. Keep stacking good days, young fella. Hopefully, there is a place on the 53 for him. Don't see him making it to the PS. Someone will claim him in my humble opinion.

He’s extremely athletic and has 4.3 speed

This hurdle was cool ..... for preseason. When the real games start you don't do that in traffic because the ball becomes less secure and even less than a simple punch by a defender will dislodge it. Open field is where you hurdle.

Mind you I only watched the first half:

Up:

Barham- he’s the MLB we need. Move Agent Zero back to WLB where he belongs and let’s roll.

Milton - Love his development. Enjoy the practice squad Howell.

Mingo- He is making the team. Whenever he gets good QB play he shows out. And he’s a beast on ST. Do we keep 6 or try to sneak Brown onto the PS or fake an injury to stash him?

Thomas- from my untrained eyes he looked much better on the right side. I wouldn’t be upset if he took Steele’s job. At least there is potential upside.

Davis - the clear RB 2. I think we go light and just keep him and Williams (and Hunter). Try to get Blue/Mafah/Izzy onto the PS.

Revel - future star

Down:

A few rookies need a redshirt year. Shelton and Moore and Smith.

Blue - see above. Just don’t see him making the 53.

Again, I only watched the first half.
Nice post. Agree with every bit except Blue. I think he makes the 53. He won’t be here if he doesn’t and I don’t think they want to pull the plug just yet.

What I can’t see is cutting a guy like him or Trigg for Lupke, and then never play Lupke. I can see that happening.

There’s usually plenty of phantom injuries and/or side deals that we aren’t privy to. If they end up losing a player or two, maybe that’s a good thing.

I think the RB depth chart now is Williams, Luepke, Davis, and Blue. I just can't see how you keep Davis off this roster.

Izzy or Mafah can go on the PS. In fact Izzy was on Dallas' PS since last November and nobody poached him.
I agree with all of this.

Blue had a big 2nd half.
You know, I actually thought he was bad the entire first half, but it really was just the first quarter. He seemed to lack confidence and went down easy in the first again.

1st quarter
3 yds
2 yds
10 yds
-3 yds

2nd quarter
3 yds
4 yds
6 yds
5 yds
15 yds

3rd quarter
8 yds
6 yds
6 yds
2 yds
2 yds
6 yds

Mafah only had one carry - 15 yards for a TD

Why are you guys infatuated with Luepke. He is the definition of someone who isn’t great at anything.

I agree with all of this.
Me too. I like Mafah, but I think he and Izzy would both make it to the PS.

Same thing with Howell. He might be a slightly better option at QB right now if he had to start games, but Milton has much more upside and right now is at least very close to Howell. Heck, he might have passed him up.

Can’t make an obvious case against that top four, but wouldn’t that be considered going long at that position? Can’t do that everywhere.

I haven’t done the math but we seem to need to go long at several positions, which can’t happen. Again, that speaks to better depth which is a great thing, but…..I don’t know if they can go with four at RB. Then again I don’t know that they can go with only three if one is Lupke. He is no lead back.

You want to keep em all, but….

I dont think he is as slow as you want to make it. The guy chasing him #34 Oliver ran a 4.5 40 and didn't really gain much if any ground on Brown. Brown is a 4.55-4.6 guy. He isn't a burner by any means, but he gets open...that is more important than pure speed.
Absolutely. This particular play makes it obvious that he doesn’t have blazing speed, but if he did he would not have been sitting there as an UDFA.

40 times in no pads might be the most overrated thing in pro sports. And we talking tenths of seconds as the difference.

Milton's stock is wayyyyy up. That guy looks like a different player.
