Is This Loss Beneficial?

I've read numerous posts on here on how great the defense will be and how Parker is a Fangio disciple. After the physical slap down by the Giants, Parker and the defense were given a dose of reality. This loss should open some eyes and help prepare them for Washington. Parker seemed tentative and was hesitant to make adjustments. Also, while Javonte's taunting penalty came at a bad time, it did have some value. We saw Aubrey miss what has become a very make able 48 yard point after. There is a slight positive to his penalty.
We cannot count on Aubrey in a clutch situation. Javonte exposed him.

It was highly unlikely that last year's historically bad defense was going to get replaced by a top 10 defense, especially in their first game with several new defensive players and a first time defensive coordinator.

I think Parker and the defense will improve some, but either way I think it will take a few games to get a read on how good or bad they are.

As for Aubrey's miss, the hold was not good ..

Compare it to similar kicks of the same distance from other games by Aubrey ..

Parker is an apparent practitioner of Stoicism, which is a philosophy of non-reactivity, hence the lack of any radical adjustments. I'm confident he'll study every element of the gameplan he took going in and why it failed. I don't imagine he got much sleep. Dude might still be awake right now.

I don't see how can anyone can say nothing good could've come from the game. Winning teams aren't made with an easy-bake oven. Failure is integral part of success.

I think this was certainly a does of reality. The most concerning part is the same criticism people were pouring on Eberflus last year, where are the in-game adjustments? How many more swing passes into the flat do the Giants have to run before he gets someone over there to cover? At one point, the Giant ran 4 in a row to great effect.

Yes. At some point the team is going to have to move on from Overshown. He’s just not physical enough as a linebacker.

Barham made some mistakes but he clearly is a far more physical player which we need to have an effective defense. This defense seriously needs physicality.

At this stage of the (3) three plus decades of embarrassment loses, after embarrassment loses followed by Jerry Jones perfectly worded cliches and selling piles of FOOLS GOLD, can any Cowboy fan --at this stage-- be surprised. You really have to be numb by the years of this. Just watch the game with no expectations because in the end, there are no expectations.
