Twitter: Dak wasn't the problem Sunday, it was the defense

We had the ball TWICE in the ENTIRE SECOND HALF. I get the slow start argument (a little bit), but this loss is not on Dak or the offense, imho. Expecting an offense to score TDs on every possession is a recipe for a losing team. The defense has to show up.

Dak WAS elite overall.

He's 3rd in QBR and 4th in EPA/play after Week 1.

He's the only QB who has to play a PERFECT game just for a shot to win.

You are exactly but the problem is he didn't lift the offense with him. That comes from an internal refusal-to-lose mentality. Sometimes he needs to take over outside of being the system QB runs EVERY play called from the sideline. If he sees a better pre-snap play, run the damn thing. Sean Peyton once said he could not count the time Drew Brees saved his a.... from bad plays he called from the sideline. I get what you are saying but the 'elite' title carries more weight than just numbers. For example, some of the best plays from elite WRs are w/o the ball or targets.

I agree he should. Probably one thing u wish he did more of but I also feel like it takes having guys around you with that same mentality and maybe it’s unfair but I just feel all these guys run a system and when things get off track the ship sails….not sure if you can consistently win that way.

The loss is on the entire team, coaches included but is it too much to ask our coaches and elite offense to step up a bit more to help the defense? Not much different from losing your starting QB....you need the entire team to help your backup.

Maybe. Those two lacked the dawg mentality themselves so it’s kind of hard for me to believe that. I think Shotty was around and been around and he knows what it takes so I’d hope he instilled that in the team…..

Brother, the offense was elite.

The issue is they only had SIX measly possessions because the defense couldn't get off the field!

They scored 3 touchdowns in those 6 possessions.

3.5 points per possession is ELITE.

An average NFL team gets 10 possessions/game.... 3.5 points over 10 possessions is 35 points/game.

For a season, 35 PPG would be the 4th-most prolific offense in NFL HISTORY.

Misplaced blame isn't fixing anything. Dak isn't responsible for the defense's terrible performance.

Dak wasn't perfect. but if we need offense to be perfect to win, we have a HUGE issue....
the defense was plain pathetic. second half, they allowed 8 of 8 3rd down conversions. let that sink in for a minute..

imagine if they had allowed 6 of 8.... still pathetic, but two more cowboys possessions.

Dak is 3rd in QBR. The only QB out of the Top 12 who took a loss.

Should tell you something about this team. This team is the outlier in every statistical category indicating that we should've won.

The team is also the outler in your head, what happens with it is inconsequential.....you will hold no bounds, or wear your Cowboys hat in here. His INT caused a 7-7 game to swing the momentum to the Giants coming out of the half. At some point you may actually blame him for it, and not blame world issues on everyone else. It's actually quite pathetic,. Why not stand up and say Dak wasn't the only problem, but was part of it? In no world should we have won the game on Sunday, to believe otherwise is more delusion

I love Prescott and cheer him on every week, but its just clickbait nonsense to suggest Dak didn't contribute to the loss. That's all people are really saying. Framing it as "Dak wasn't THE problem" is silly.
His INT was the culprit to points for NYG. Period. End of story. Sure he only had a couple possessions the 2nd half, but that ignores the 1st half. 60 minutes boys.
