Offense brought back every single starter, kept their playcallers and have just one key starter missing, although his backup Bass has a ton of starting experience. Add in all the cap resources on that side of the football, there is zero excuse for this offense coming up short time after time. I wrote a post prior to the season about this unit being overrated, they have done nothing to change my opinion.

Dak has had many chances to change the narrative for him not being an elite QB. However, can you remember any time he delivered a winning TD on their last drive? Now it isn't just him, year after year this team beat themselves with committing unforced mental mistakes. They usually led the league in penalties every year. Last week was a perfect example when Schoon commits a false start inside the 2.

It is fair to wonder if Schott and Dak are the one's to take us to the top. Once the Defense improves, what will their excuse be then?

He just led them last year against Chiefs and Eagles.

If they can consistently get the run game as the complimentary piece it needs to be then this offense will do really well.

I know they did well even without the run game but the legitimate threat of a run opens up so many options for the offense to take advantage of.

I'm curious to see how Tyler Smith's return will effect the ground game.

My opinion.

Funny I tried to tell you all this summer let's not think they're going to be the same dynamic offense like last year. There's still time, but right now this team isn't good overall

They have a defensive test this Sunday even though Houston has suffered some bad start-itis like us

If Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson can drive the bus to a SB win, then Dak can too. Coaching matters. Look at Steve Buerlin. Thanks to Norv Turner many people thought he should have stayed in the starting lineup when Aikman came back from an injury only to lose to the Lions in the playoffs. He left and didn't do crap. He one great year with the Panthers under a SB winning coach, George Seifert. There's a reason why there is a such thing as a "coach." But if the GREAT Tony "Generational QB" Romo, the god of this site, can't win one under Jerry, what makes you Romosexuals think Dak can?

I have a Romo jersey and was banned at the other board by Quickdraw for sticking up for Romo after one of his choke games. I loved Romo when he was our QB. I have nothing for him now. I love Dak because he's the starter on my all-time favorite team and his story haven't been chiseled in stone yet like Romo's story has. Once dak is done here I'm moving on. I shed no tears when Emmitt hurt his shoulder with the Cardinals. Michael Irvin is the only former player that I still associate with and cheer for. The dude loves everyone. Great dude. He's sinner but we all are. So save that "he was a cheating, coke head" argument for someone else.

@Cowboyny I'm generally speaking here. I'm not calling you a Dak hater or Cowboys hater. The shoe I put here for those people to put on doesn't fit you. They know it fits them. You'll see. Lol You're just a frustrated fan like I am. Cheers, brother.

So you demand perfection? Or close to perfection as possible. How many points a game do you expect them to average? 34? 35? 38? Should they be scoring on 90% of their drives.

Screw it...defense gets a pass

October 6, 2024 the Cowboys at Steelers. With Dallas trailing 17 - 13, Prescott threw a 4 yard TD pass to Jalen Tolbert with 20 seconds remaining, giving Dallas a 20 - 17 victory. That was 31 games ago.

The Cowboys have had several game winning drives since then, but the final winning score came via something other than a Dak TD pass.

If the defense improved the offense wouldn’t need excuses at all. Average defensive performances probably makes you 3-0 right now.

I anticipated some regression from the offense coming into the season but that really hasn’t been the case this far. The offense has been scoring at a very high rate. If they keep that up and the defense doesn’t allow scores on 50%+ of drives these late game high pressure moments become very infrequent.

Like a TD run from the two-yard line in the last 30 seconds:) Too bad that streak didn't continue last week.

While I’m not the biggest Dak fan, I’d like to see what he could do with a guy like Ben Johnson which will never happen. And when is the defense ever going to get better?? This is the 3rd start year of the almost defense, 3rd and first defense, Swiss cheese defense, Hot knife through butter defense, Dumbsday defense, we are soft and can’t stop the run defense with no end in sight at this point lol

I feel your pain bro. I really do, but offense isn't our biggest problem. Coaching decisions, the failure of our coaches having the team ready to play, coaches clock management are all our biggest problems.

Injuries are killing us on defense. It takes time for a new defense to gel, and it makes it harder to gel when you have 2 players dropping every game. On the offensive side of the ball, missing the best player on your offensive line definitely matters, just asked all of our running backs.

Now its time to move onto facts over feelings, respectfully.... while you feel there's no excuses for the offense, I don't believe that they feel any is required. The offense put up 31 points.... usually an NFL team who puts up 31 points has a 75% to 80% winning ratio.

Dak isn't an elite quarterback. You asked can anybody remember anytime Dak delivered a winning TD drive? I believe he has 19 4th quarter comeback wins, and 26 game winning drives.

Of course the rest of the offense played their parts to solidify those wins, but yes, he's done those things you've mentioned.

I do not care about points scored, it is when the points are. 2 final drives with just 3 points when the game was on the line.

They have been a bit underwhelming to me so far.
But they are improving each week. BS is what the issue is right now. Poor play calling, poor clock management. Playing scared.
He's definitely guilty of all those things. As I said before though, this was definitely a team effort. I haven't heard it mentioned but after the first kickoff went out of bounds he should have ditched that corner kickoff. The Field wasn't bouncing how they thought it would. And at that point they should have been kicking out of the end zone anyway.
