No excuses for this offense!

Once again Prescott had a chance to be the hero and once again he finished being a zero!

He helped put up 31 points and may have helped putting up more if not for 2 fumbles that he didn't commit. How in the world did he "finish being a zero" when he drove us all the way down field to put us in position to tie or win the game? Do tell....

Oh wait, you're probably one of those people who are still crying claiming Pickens was wide open right but ignoring two main facts.

1. Through interviews, links, etc, the head coach told Dak to throw the ball away if his first read wasn't open. So Dak threw the ball away because his first read wasn't open, we had no time outs, the offensive tackle got pushed back into his face, and if he got sacked there the game was over.

2. When Pickens got open, the ball was already gone. So you and others with your limited football knowledge of (in-game scenarios) cannot continue to lie and say Dak missed an open receiver.

With that said, brush up more on how football is played so that your posts can be respected as credible takes. This post that I responded to clearly shows you don't know much about football, you're just riding the "Blame Game Train" with a few others who have alarmingly low football IQs.

There's always hope for you guys though.... and for the record, NFL teams who's offenses put up 31 points usually win 75 to 80% of the time. But im guessing you're blaming our offense led by Dak to score 50 points every game or they're/he's the reason we lose.

Can't make this **** up. Can people really be this mentally challenged and still able to post on a message board?

dak thinks we need a couple more number-1 offensive linemen. We can line them up in the backfield to block and give him the minute he needs to find the open guy. I hope Jerry was listening.

I doubt it... Dak was ranked around 5th or 6th overall just last season at the quarterback position behind a 21st ranked offensive line.

I think he'll be alright. On a side note, all quarterbacks need offensive linemen to block for them to give them time to find the open guy.

We have been in this mode for longer than I care to remember. We literally come in here on the day after a game and attack the offense for "only" scoring 30+ points. I tell you man I do not get it at all. I mean I know a lot of it is blind Dak hate but beyond that it just makes zero sense. 31 points wins you upwards or 90% of NFL games.. Now would I like for them to have scored 41 and won the damn game? Absolutely.. but I live int he real world. I do not expect any player or unit to be perfect. YES they can be better.. but I am reasonable enough to know what SHOULD be good enough.. and 31 points falls firmly in that realm.. and giving up 34 points clearly does not.
Exactly, I understand the frustration but picking on the offense just seems like the oddest flex And I know this place can overreact and get angry and emotional at times but man they have targeted the offense since that final play last Sunday they won't let up and I do understand that sometimes your offense has to make a special play but they didn't lose the game they just didn't steal a Victory from a sure loss when you give up 34 points you're gonna lose a game more times than not you're gonna lose I mean I get it You wish you were the recipients of what the Ravens got and a bunch of mistakes at the end of the game that helped them win the game but the Ravens didn't go out and take that game either..

."snatching victory from the jaws of defeat."

That's what the Cowboys fans were hoping for but we all understand that that's not always possible to have a miracle happen the Cowboy did it last year they came from 24 points down and beat the Eagles it can happen but to expect it to happen and be so angry when it doesn't happen I don't get it I really am sitting here dumbfounded at some of our better members and people I like to have conversations with or just absolutely have gone numb and have lost their ever loving minds..

This game the defense gave them every chance to win.
This is the most confusing statement I keep hearing every chance no just because the defense had some moments and some improvements they still gave up 34 points and when you wake up and realize how ridiculous you sound maybe we can have an actual conversation about what real defense looks like it doesn't look like 34 points it doesn't look like only making a few stops late which by the way those were long drives stopping them at the goal line or holding them a field goal that's more of A moral victory brother that is not playing good defense at all not even average defense that was a horrible defense of display giving up 34 parts just because they held them under 40 because they stopped Henry and Lamar a couple of times and slowed them down They gave up 34 points the number one indicator for defense is not giving up any points or giving up the lowest amount of points you possibly can this offense gave them many chances to win this game in the defense lost it..

You do understand you have it backwards by the Cowboys scoring 31 points they continued to bail the defense out just like in the 2016 playoff game prescott did the same thing over and over had to bring his team back and over and over the defense kept letting Aaron Rodgers score How does giving up 34 points giving them every chance just because they slowed them down and held them under 50 That somehow that's a moral victory you're considering every chance to win that is the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard Every chance to win what did the argument that I still say the defense didn't play well against San Francisco in the playoff games the two games because they were a lot of mistakes made in those games That would be an argument for that game the the game where you held the team under 20 points or whatever it was Yes that's where the defense's job is you need to keep at the very minimum in this different league wherein you need to keep them under 20 points that is an even great defense but that is what you would want out of your defense to consider them every chance to win that would be it 20 points not 34..

So maybe we're having a little dyslexia in here The offense gave the defense every chance to step up and give up less than 34 points and they didn't but the special teams screwed the last sequence up The defense screwed the last seven seconds up as well they gave up the completion whereas on the other side they blocked the FG, Created a scenario in which their defense didn't play great either but they made less mistakes that's why the Cowboys lost it was the fumble it was the holding penalty that brought a big pass back it was the P procedure penalty for moving when they could have ran inside the 5 there's a whole lot of things we could talk about But the thing we're not going to talk about is the defense did everything they could to give the offense a chance to win and that is untrue..

This game the defense gave them every chance to win.
No they didn't it's not even debatable and somehow you're so hurt that you're giving the defense credit they don't deserve at all did they improve some in the from the 1st game to the 2nd game to the 3rd game yes they did but giving up 34 points is inexcusable and there is no flowers being given at all I don't care that they made a few big stops they gave up way too many points and that's why the game was lost there is no other excuse and no other debate we're not even in the same wheelhouse you can't give up that many points you need to keep it at 20 or your defense needs some work..

Yes even in this league if you want to consider you having a good defense just a solid defense not a great defense you need to hold a team under 20 points I'll take 20 this team would win 14 games last year and this year had the defense gave up under 20 points But the offense is not perfect no they didn't play perectly, but 31 Points in this NFL would win you about 90% of your games if you had any kind of defense 34 points is not defense that's surviving..

I know what you wanted you wanted the offense to bail the defense out and they didn't this old saying holds true they did not snatch victory from the jaws of defeat that's what you wanted but you're blaming them for not overcoming bad defense once again..

This game the defense gave them every chance to win.

The defense allowed 378 yards, 192 rushing at a 5.1 yards average on the ground, and 34 points.

Yeah. They were 85 Bears amazing.

Correct me if im wrong, but wasn't that the defense who allowed a 27 yard completion in 7 seconds for a game winning fg? You do realize that a situation like that has never happened in NFL history before, right?

The defense had some great moments, but "gave them every chance to win"?

The offense is the least of my concerns

20 (on 6 possessions)
37
31

Your offense isnt going to be A+ and score all the time even in the red zone but they come close enough

Its the defense that is just buns

Defense was playing with deep backups in their secondary and had two 4th down stops and another key stop late in the 4th quarter when the game was on the line.

You're absolutely right. The secondary is extremely banged up and im sure that contributed to them getting shredded on certain plays. No matter what the issue was, that whole "the defense gave them every chance" is false.

Thats all I was trying to say. Giving up 192 yards on the ground and 27 yards in 7 seconds is not considered "giving every chance".

I love how people act like the Cowboys spend an inordinate amount on the offense.

Their offensive cap hit is third in the league, some $30m behind #1 (LAR).
You just made the point. We are 3rd in the league in offensive spending!

We should be 3rd in the league in defensive spending!!

The top defenses almost always beat the top offenses in the history of the NFL!!!!

Dumb, Jerry likes the show.

That's odd. You call Dak a top 3 QB as if that's a real achievement (it is, if true).

But 3rd in the league in offensive spending suddenly is suddenly insignificat.

You've got an odd 'zone agenda here, kid. Committed! But odd. The logic doesn't always add up.

He's definitely guilty of all those things. As I said before though, this was definitely a team effort. I haven't heard it mentioned but after the first kickoff went out of bounds he should have ditched that corner kickoff. The Field wasn't bouncing how they thought it would. And at that point they should have been kicking out of the end zone anyway.
Kicking out of the endzone on the last kickoff was the dumbest decision of the GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

That decision gave the Raven’s a free play FROM the 35 yard line. 20-25 yards away from a game winning FG!!
With a team with very little pash rush and a seriously banged up secondary Shottenheiner should have never put the defense in that position.

Also, Vaughn Miller DID NOT CONTAIN the edge and Lamar Jackson easily rolled out to the right for the game winning completion. The D line needed to keep Jackson in the pocket. If he ran up the middle he needs to run 65 yards to score. Not happening.

Coaching malpractice in Dallas!!

Sure if you live in 1985

Do you people not know what inordinate means? Dallas' spending isn't an outlier.

...and gave up 34 points and a 7-second drive to lose the game. You can't keep ignoring these points.

The hypocrisy of saying the defense was good because of 3-4 good plays and the offense was bad because of 3-4 bad plays is ridiculous.

Let me ask this, at what point threshold did the defense not do enough?

The defense gave them a chance to win, Cowboy offense scores a TD the game is over. Also the drive before that defense made a stop and they go three and out.

This game the defense gave them every chance to win.

192 rushing yards isn't giving your offense every chance.

Leaving the opponents best WR wide open to lose the game isn't giving your offense every chance.

The defense has been garbage 3 weeks running.

I love how you just ignore the results of that spending. The Rams have been winners, the Cowboys haven't.
One has a GM and coach who are winners and the other has a narcissist GM hell bent on trying to prove to everyone he’s a smart GM while winning is second priority to that
