Pump the breaks

No one is ever going to apologize for a WIN. For the fans, (which is short for fan-antic) only care about WINS.
While Owners/Players #1 concerns is getting paid, not winning.

With that, caution!
The FOOLS GOLD is now selling for fan-antics because of the win

But Dallas fans have seen this scenario for decades.....
Cowboys can only play the teams on their schedule. But we know the Cowboys beat losing teams and lose to winning teams
With that, Dallas should beat a hapless Buccaneers team without the starting QB: Baker Mayfielding .

Daron Bland was horrible vs Texans. And the OL was getting destroyed by the Texans DL. Prescott had little time to throw
Aubrey was better only because he didn't kick anything out of bounds on the kickoff. Missed (2) extremely long FG.
Dumb coaching decisions to kicks these with the OL getting mauled.
Pickens was basically invisible expect for one completed pass.( Which was a good reception).

On to Week 5 Thursday
Agree in general, but things to consider.

Once Durant and Revel return, and Porter is fully employed, Bland will be able to go back to where he's had success....slot corner. In fact, I've always thought he would be a good safety so he can ball hawk.

Aubrey didn't miss two kicks. One was blocked because Broderick Jones didn't even bother to try, and the other he rushed because he feared another block. Two have been blocked in two weeks, which messes with a kicker's head.

Pickens had a good game. The Texans doubled over the top of him all game, which allowed CD to go off. If teams want to do that, they'll get killed. Next game, they might roll to CD, which will leave Pickens more chances. However, Pickens is a very limited route runner; he only really runs slants, deep ins, and go routes, and he's not a slot guy at all.

Shotty had a stellar day overall with playcalling, but I'm getting worried that CP is in way over his head. I don't really see a "scheme" with him. Nothing creative or unique about it. Just line up and play straight 3-4 defense is all I'm seeing with an occasional blitz. We'll judge that in a few weeks once more injured guys return.

Dallas should roll Tampa and Green Bay, then beat Philly. Otherwise, they're just the same team beating up on bad teams early in the season and losing to anyone with a real pulse.

The Texans offense when Nico Collins is healthy isn't bad. They should have beat Buffalo the 1st game of the season...putting up 31 points.

I think too many were looking at the winless Texans as a bad team. They aren't.
They're good except they have a really iffy quarterback.

The team has enough talent to make a good run in the playoffs. Unfortunately their HC is an amoeba and has shown zero improvement in game/clock management. Ryans’s time outs on the Cowboys game winning drive were correct for his team, but it also helped the Cowboys because it took the game/clock management out of Schotty’s hands and actually helped Dallas giving them time to get into the correct plays.

The rest of the NFC is terrible...the Cowboys should easily make the playoffs and maybe even win the division, even with all of their flaws. This is finally the year folks. Even if the Cowboys miss, they can't miss this season
AI models have us finishing 9-8 or 10-7.

The defense is killing us.

Take a look around the NFC & our own division.

The goal right now is collecting wins.

Style points don’t matter.

Win games, stay healthy, get better.

It’s tough right now.

I think for Dallas to ultimately win big in the post season the run game has to improve.
Agree with this.

My expectations have been tempered quite a bit, but also the goal right now is wins while this defense gels.

There are some things that aren't fixable this season, but we're rolling out essentially a brand new defense with brand new players and a brand new DC.

And the bizarre start to the season's calendar rhythm probably isn't helping. So you want to stack as many wins as you can through this stretch where we only have 1 normal home game from the beginning of the season through Nov. 1st.

Not sure what all your ramblings are about, we all know what's gone on the last 30 years but thanks for diatribe... Look man, my eyes tell me that we will get better as the season goes on defense and coaching should also improve, so with that, I will enjoy the season for whatever it may bring..

They're good except they have a really iffy quarterback.
Stroud is decent if he can sit back with no pressure. In the 2nd, when we finally started applying a little, he wasn't near as affective.

I don't think anybody who is grounded in reality suddenly thinks the Cowboys are some incredible team. They still had some serious issues on display yesterday (i.e. we still don't have a pass rush, and the run game is very hit or miss), but you have to give them credit for showing some heart. They came back out in the 2nd half and turned it up.

Yes, Schotty is still looking for that signature win, but at this point, all we can do is watch and hope this team somehow starts gelling as the season wears on.

With all that said, I think as fans, yes, we are allowed to enjoy a win.

The refs kept us in this game.

Well maybe the Cowboys players played so well that they forced the Texans to make the mistakes they made. The Texans got out of character because of what we were doing to them.

Pickens had 2. The 2nd was on the game-winning drive and very instrumental.

Then you went on anyway. I celebrate wins it won't kill anyone

The doomers/trolls are in shambles right now.

They were expecting another loss, they had their taking points, Jerry quips and other the sky-is-falling, tired screed all planned out and when it didn’t happen they need a release.

It manifests itself in a “yeah, they won, but don’t get your hopes up too high” post.

Texans d line is as good or better than any in the league- our 2nd half scoring output give me confidence. Defense still has a long way to go and bland was bad but a win is a win that’s an 0-3 team fighting for its life and the buc will be even more desperate
0-4

We should have have another win from the Baltimore game and be 3-1. We could have also lost the game yesterday and be 1-3.

Keep in mind that Houstin was the more desperate team yesterday and we win that game. That’s not usually the case in the NFL. Fortunate to win that game yesterday. Needs a win against the Bucs on Thursday.

And the OL was getting destroyed by the Texans DL.
The Cowboys scored 34 points yesterday.

Including TD drives of 64, 74 (11 plays) and 81 (14 plays) yards. Would have been more if Aubrey hits those 60 yarders.

Did you lose a bet of some kind?

Not ignoring.

Dallas has the pieces to get better. They just have to improve.

They have a banged up secondary with new pieces.

It’s all about growing & collecting wins.

Nobody is ignoring the defense but the goal is to improve & they got the guys to become mediocre at worst on defense & that’s all they need to be.

A better run game will improve a lot of things for this team. Including slow starts & keeping the defense off the field.
no, we have shown only marginal improvement. still allowing unacceptable production by opposing offenses. and so far CP has not impressed
