Elite offense?

Anyone that says this needs to stop. This is a compiler against bad teams. Anytime this offense goes against a good Defense they become mediocre.

Just stop with the “this offense is great” nonsense.
Based on points per drive and yards per drive, the Cowboys are #1 offense in the NFL.

Problem is the # of drives FOR THE SEASON is last place in the entire NFL.

Teams are playing keep away with 10 min drives leaving our offense sitting on the bench and thus limiting our scoring opportunities. Fix the defense, give our offense more drives/possessions, you will see a lot more yards and scoring.

It’s against losing teams,
That doesn’t mean they’re bad,
Means they’re having some issues looks like we are

It is just EMBARSSING to share a forum with "fans" who talk football and really don't understand what they are watching. The Dak contract has them out of their minds. We witnessed the worst defense in franchise history last year....is on it's way to being worst than that...and we see thread after thread after thread about what this offense is NOT. Make it make sense?

Is the offense perfect? No!!!!!!!!! But this defense is so historically bad, it needs the offense to be perfect for this team to have a chance. And because it does not appear as if the defense is going to get much better...the expectations for the offense have been raised for some fans. Hopefully we can get a run game going, because we are going to need it.

Don't kid yourself sir. If Kyle Shanahan was running the Cowboys offense, no way in hell would they have lost to the Bucs. They might even be undefeated given the talent at the skill positions. The Cowboys ran a feast or famine offense Thursday night, chock full of vertical routes that often gave Prescott no way to beat the pressure he was under. Schottenheimer mailed it in big time. The all-22 doesn't lie. I watched every offensive and defensive snap.

Schotty is overwhelmed trying to learn how to be a head coach in the NFL under the glare that comes with being the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys...AND construct a game plan....AND call plays in the heat of a real live game. Thank the longest tenured GM in the NFL for this circus.

No sir. This past loss is more on Schottenheimer than it is Parker, who has a lot of key guys out of the lineup. Schottenheimer made is own offense feast or famine Thursday night and I have little confidence going forward that he sees the writing on the wall. He is on the way to being yet another HC/OC who misuses the high level of talent that has been assembled in Dallas. He called far too many vertical routes Thursday night...and ran the ball far less than he should have, principally behind Guyton and Smith. Too many plays in shot-gun no back as well. He put his own quarterback in BAD situations too many times.

After watching the all-22, I worry more about Schottenheimer than Parker. The "just run down the field and beat your man" offense has been tried before...too many times in Dallas...with lackluster results.

Kyle Shanahan would make this offense lethal. And until you get a guy like him, the Cowboys have no frigging chance of winning a superbowl. The philosophy on offense continues to be backward.

I firmly believe Schotty is in over his head. I think he could be a good playcaller if that is all he had to focus on. I was responding to someone who pointed out where this offense ranks in relation to other offenses in the NFL this year...and Dallas is leading or top 2 or 3 in most categories. So our 2-3 record is not good...but the offense is nowhere near the primary culprit. There is not a perfect offense in the NFL...but it seems like that is what it is going to take for this team to be succesful.

Its actually embarrassing to share a forum with fans that think you have to have coached a pro team before you can have an opinion. How many national championships have you won?

The offense didn't need to be perfect against Tampa to win they just needed to be decent and they weren't. We scored 16, thats not even good forget perfect, expecting this team to put up 27 points a week isnt perfection its just doing their job, 40 plus would be perfection.

No NFL team has ever averaged 40 points per game over the course of a full regular season.
The highest-scoring single-season averages in NFL history are:
