I’ve been a fan of this team for over 40 years and I’ve never been more embarrassed than now and it has nothing to do with wins and loses.
No matter what happened on the field there were always players that you knew were good guys, played the game the right way and actually cared.
There is nobody on this team like now.
Maybe it’s a sign of the times and just the way the League is now but it’s quite obvious that the players don’t care about fans and, in fact, actually have disdain for them.
You have an owner who threatened to fire a radio host because he had the nerve to ask him a tough questions; this mindset has permeated down to the players. Two years ago, Diggs told a reporter “Deez Nuts” when his effort was questioned, and rightfully so after refusing to get his nose in there and tackle a guy running upfield, acting like a adolescent child. They drafted a DL who said that he didn’t even like football, he just likes to hit people. They traded for a guy, Gary, who after a game, is jumping around, swearing walking into the tunnel after finally making a few plays while his play has been pedestrian since he got here.
Then you have Dak. Here’s a guy who it should be easy to root for. From his meager upbringing, to his brother, to his injury, to being the starter of the Dallas Cowboys, it’s now obvious that he’s just like all the rest. While his play on the field has always been up and down, the one thing you could say about him was that he was a good guy,
Not anymore.
Leaving his personal life out of this, the idea that he actually told a security guard to get rid of someone who uttered the word embarrassing to him and actually stared the fan down while trying to be a tough guy, is just the icing on the cake. I get it, in the heat of the moment, directly after a tough game, you might not be in the best mood, but it didn’t stop there. He had time to shower and use time during his post game presser and actually went after the guy again; doubling down on his mistake. And add to the fact the organization obliged their pampered “star” quarterback, it speaks volumes of the culture rot imbued at The Star.
The whole team is full of bums, thugs, losers and quitters.
