Mike Pettine reports directly to Schotty!

He might, I don't know. I don't think he was that great of a DC lol.

But the reporting structure doesn't really matter.
LOL.

No it doesnt, because Jerrys door is always open.

Which is why no HC has ever had success here since Jimmy.

The players KNOW the coach has 0 say.

I remember when Wade came here. He wanted to fine players for tardiness, dress code etc.

Jerry said no.

Can't say I'm surprised. It's a cluster. IMO this is indicative that Shotty is on the hot seat, as is Parker.
The man was going to be hired by Christian Parker, his boss, before the season started, but he declined, wanting to stay retired. Parker wanted him here, and as the defensive coordinator, he’s still the boss.

This guy’s title is senior assistant defensive, whatever you want to call it, he works under Parker, and that’s how it should be. He’s being pulled out of retirement to assist the defense, not to take Parker’s job or make big changes.

He’s another cog in the wheel to help communication and speed up the transition to a 3-4 defense, which right now is being hindered by other assistants, not Parker.

The players aren’t getting it done, especially on the sideline during games. Now there’s an extra voice who knows this defense inside and out, here to help the team, not undermine Parker.

Some fans seem intent on wanting people fired, berated on TV, or talked down to just to feel better about a bad season, but that’s not how it works in reality.

MP was not brought in to replace Parker, Parker wanted him here, and there’s no ill will or conspiracy.

This doesn’t mean Parker isn’t doing his job; he just needs more help relaying what the defense needs to the players, plus an extra voice and set of eyes to accelerate fixes.

However, with five key injuries to starters who would have played important roles and big snaps, the team has been at a disadvantage. They added Porter, but he only played one game before getting sick, making him the sixth key defensive player who hasn’t been able to contribute.

That’s what’s really going on.

If Brian Schottenheimer remains head coach next year, Parker’s job is safe.

I don’t believe he could flip a 4–3 into a 3–4 in just one offseason and have everything needed to make it work.

Jerry knows it, everyone knows it, this is just about saving this year. However, if Schottenheimer gets fired, I doubt much of the staff would stay, and that’s the only way things change next year. I don’t think that will happen, though. They need a full season where all three phases are clicking.

Right now, there’s no defense or special teams, and it’s unfair to blame Schottenheimer for the mess when his offense and the players he brought in are actually working.

They’re not perfect, but they’re effective. With a stronger defense, improved special teams, and a healthier season, I think it would work out fine.

Add that I am shocked that Sorenson remained on this team during this transition we had during a longer off week I really thought they would change something there And why they did not I don't know maybe they see it as the players but that would have been a good wake up call there you fire somebody that's really not doing a good job anyway just to make a point and send messages to the rest of the team..

I Mean that could still happen...

I guess I'm not following the outrage. If I bring in an auditor to work with and support my accounting staff, that auditor would report to me too, right? Was this guy sold to us as working under CP or was that just assumed?

Well, I finally agree with something A 100%, i'm on the same page as you why is this a shock this is exactly what it is,

I mean the day it happened when I heard he was coming on board I knew this was going to be the setup It was going to be set up just like a corporate structure with direct chain of command,

this is in no way putting pressure on Parker threatening his job it was never going to be like this just another staff member to help get this 34 installed quicker see where the problems are at take some pressure time wise off of Parker especially in practices and installing game plans but on game day just getting the message there say this is where you're screwing up let's do it better it's just more help it's like when you make a trade for Joey Porter Junior but this is a staff member instead it's the same thing..

Like they're trying to make improvements even if it doesn't work this is a positive thing this early in a season to try to keep this heavy snow from becoming an Avalanche they got they're trying to get ahead of it earlier they made a trade for a player and now they brought on another coach they're trying to get it going....

The stories that have gotten out of control from the first release that Mike Pettini was coming here have been so crazy the reactions are just out of control..

Is there more to this revelation? Is there a power struggle between the HC and DC? My question continues to be who on earth does the HC report to? The accountability that some specific clueless class clown in here claimed that he has, is where now?

all asst's report to the head coach.
don't see it as "news".
they should just fire parker and move forward.
but we are not a serious football team or organization.
and we do not have a serious football gm.
we have an owner who plays pretend.
