I have watched alot of Qb player over the years and personally even though he was far from perfect I saw great upside with Milton in the preseason... I'm out on Dak because I have seen enough of his deer in the headlights and his inability to have what I consider Elite Qb composer... Having said that, If Milton does indeed get chance with Philly and does great, I believe that may be the total nail in the coffin for me as a fan. Each and every year my enthusiasm lessens.

If you were like me and liked what you saw from Milton and wanted to see him get a real chance, how would you feel if Milton became a star in Philly? Hypothetically that is??? I would be happy for Joe quite honestly, but I'm sure Jerrah would spin it on how much he loves him some Dak and happy for Milton, YADA YADA...

I agree. With what we saw in the preseason I am still shocked we let him go. If he plays well for the Eagles that will be a very bitter pill to swallow. I still don’t understand why you would let a QB with potential go. Unless he can’t read a defense. But I’m still disillusioned with this move. I was advocating for him to be signed on the roster and be the emergency QB. Cut Schoon to make room for him.

We’ll see how this plays out.

At 6'5 and about 240 Milton could be a tush-push monster.

Alright that sounded nowhere close to what I intended.
I'm very high on Milton and honestly very sad the Eagles got him... Somehow I think I'm right on me, he has the talent and a big chip on his shoulder.. For the life of me I just don't understand what went on with the Cowboys organization on this one... They hold onto guys like Mazi who was terrible but they let Miton go for Cheesburger... I think cowboys are like a twisted fraternity, nothing will change as long as Jerry and his family is at the helm..

It looks like he will get a shot.

Milton is way too inconsistent as a passer. Also not sure how much of the offense he can absorb in time to face the Cowboys.

With Barkley and now both Bigsby and Shipley out at running back, if Milton plays he's going to be in a rough situation. Philly's line and receivers are no longer great, either. It's getting ugly there, and fast.

Milton has a cannon arm and can perform well when there is a clean pocket. When there’s any rush at all, he’s one of the worst QBs ever to make a Dallas roster. There’s a reason he cleared waivers for 31 other teams. Think about that. He holds zero interest for 31 other teams. I agree with 31 other teams, and I think Milton doesn’t even belong on the practice squad.

It's always the shiny new penny - the unknown - that gets people revved up here.

I said back in the day one of the worst things that could ever happen to the Cowboys is for Romo to look good, but not close the deal. Now ever clown that can throw a pass is the zone favorite over the starter for the Cowboys.

The only advantage Milton has is the Dallas defensive backfield couldn't cover a camp fire with a tarp.

We went cheap on milton. Another blunder by our penny pinching front office
What?
This has nothing to do with anything. And if Dallas would have paid him. Then fans would complain about his contract. And that would not have kept his roster spot.
Besides he was on his rookie deal. How is this against Jerry?

If he plays poorly, will you give Jerry some credit??

FWIW: I liked Milton when I watched him in the preseason.
I thought he was more versatile than whoever the other guy is.
Better arm. Better runner. Better athlete.
Who wouldn’t want that?

Dak sucks! Milton sucks more!

Up to this point, roughly half the posters who've commented in this thread.

I can't call myself an expert on any level but I can't help but think I know a special QB when I see one, and Joe really has something. I don't know if he can be a reliable starter in the NFL but I think he has a lot of ability and the jump I saw him take from last season is huge. What I'm saying is I think it was a mistake not holding onto him.
