love him or hate him deion imo is 100% guaranteed to be a first ballot guy. BEST cover guy of all time, plus an incredible return guy.
1) He credits the hire as a good one.RICK GOSSELIN: 1) I think it was widely accepted in Dallas that Jones made a good choice in Garrett. 2) But I'm not sure that it was universally regarded across the NFL as a great hire. Garrett was half to blame for that 6-10 mess of a season. He ran the offense, which turned the ballover 30 times. 3) But no one knows how Garrett will be as a head coach. No one knew about John Harbaugh, a relative unknown hired by the Ravens. He turned into a gem -- taking Baltimore to the playoffs each of his first three seasons. No one knew about Josh McDaniels. He didn't last two season with the Broncos. I've long thought Garrett had a chance to become a great coach. But he's still at the front end of the learning curve. 4) Time will tell.
I was wondering if I misread what he said, because you're take is also how I took it.CoCo;3804749 said:Am I the only one that actually read what Gosselin said?

2) He says lets wait and see before we call him a "great" hire.
3) Some unknowns turn out great - Harbaugh. Others turn out to be failures - McDaniels
4) Lets wait and see how he does.
What's that you say? Garrett already proved his greatness with is 5-3 finish? You may recall that Josh McDaniels began his career in Denver like a house-afire (6-0 including OT win vs Pats) only to watch that house burn to the ground from there.
I'm excited to have Garrett leading the team. But I'm not outraged that Gosselin refuses to call him great just yet.

Of course people who are actually closer to the situation and more in the know couldnt possibly be right.![]()
Actually, it wasn't an article. His comments were part of his DMN weekly chat he does that was linked in the OP.sonnyboy;3804765 said:Just find it interesting the week after the eagles are eliminated we get a Goose article about how not everyone accross the NFL thinks the Garrett hire was a good one.

What Gosselin said was entirely accurate - far too many people are absolving Garrett's role in 1-7. Those same folks are in turn deifying him for going 5-3. The truth in Garrett's 2010 season is a merging of those two.

Goose didn't say anything out of line, and guys are calling him a bum. Goose is who he is, his top 100 is as good at it gets, and you have to know what to filter from certain media outlets.
The Garrett super fan club is hilarious though, I think it's more hope than actual belief - gotta cling on to something after 16 years of coming up short of our the standards and goals set by this franchise.
